You should want AI trained on your public posts. Besides, it's inevitable that AIs are trained on all public data sets.

Some have commented on how some Masaajid pray taraaweeh longer than others, and have also even criticised others for making it short and ‘manageable’. The idea is that, the longer you pray, the better, and if you’re praying shorter, then it’s almost like ‘simply ticking a box’ ✅ that you’ve done it.

No, not necessarily. The prophet said to mu’aath when he was leading Salah and making it long “do you want to cause fitna for the people oh mu’aath?” And he ordered him to make the salaah short.

We often think that “with more difficulty comes more reward” but that’s actually not Islamic teachings. Islam teaches to have patience when difficulty occurs, but not to make life more complicated and difficult. When it comes to Islamic affairs with the public, where we have people at various levels of physical and mental ability, what’s required is to go for what is best for most people; not what’s best for some people.

So a taraaweeh that 80% of ppl can handle is better than one where 40% can handle. I mean, that’s literally why the prophet stopped praying Qiyaam Al Layl on the third day, because he wanted to make it easy for the ppl and feared it would become mandatory. That says a lot. So if he stopped a good thing in order to make it easy for the ppl, that means making things easy is more important than what he was doing, which was praying.

We have many examples from the lives of the sahaabah and the prophet where he would constantly tell people to not go overboard. One sahaabiyah used to tie rope to the ceiling so that she could use it when she got tired to help her stand longer. The prophet saw that and told her not to do that, but to simply stop praying if she gets tired. Salman faarisee told Abu Dardaa to stop praying, stop fasting because he was going overboard. Ie more wasn’t more.

Lastly, not all the scholars say long standing is better. Some of them say “many short rak’ah is better then fewer long owns”

I personally don’t think there’s anything to criticise about the way taraaweeh is performed in Muslim countries. If anything, the opposite.

The prophet said

ÙŠŰłÙ‘ÙŰ±ÙˆŰ§ ÙˆÙ„Ű§ ŰȘŰčŰłŰ±ÙˆŰ§

“Make the religion easy and don’t make it hard”

That’s a verbal command, which takes precedence over anything he personally did in action.

Many people pray for others. Those are the people trying to force everyone else to pray longer. They feel jealous of the people who don't care as much about the deen as them. They see people leaving taraaweeh an hour before them and some part of them envies their carelessness. If you pray purely for the sake of Allah, you don't need others to do the same.

When you hold someone hostage in an hour of taraaweeh, you aren't doing them a favor. It just causes them to dissociate and it loses all meaning for them.

Most mosques in Muslim countries pray shorter but there are always certain mosques in every city that pray much longer so you can choose which one to go to. Deeds are based on your intentions.

Give your kid your seed phrase.

If you can't trust someone to not rug you before you die, they don't deserve any inheritance.

Turns out changing the name on your EIN is super easy (5m phone call) and the first 2 IRS agents just straight up lied to me.

The greatest winner will be all the immigrants in Canada suddenly gaining access to the US

I have no greater desire than to see the maga ppl go to bluesky in protest and fight with the lefties there

I heard of it but I didn't download it because I assumed it would update slower than NewPipe. Since Google constantly breaks the apis, the speed of update of newpipe is a massive selling point. Does tubular get updated as fast? Also, can I import from newpipe?

I keep taunting friends and family everytime they see an ad. I don't think I see any ads at this point. I set up a pihole at home + mullvad dns filter + ublock origin + newpipe/boost for YT/reddit

The main mistake with kind 1 was giving it the number 1. No one would be debating any of these if short form public text notes were kind 26 or any other number. 1 probably shoulda been something more basic and common, maybe like display name.

Ultimately, the reason lighting doesn't work offline is because finality is an unnegotiable in bitcoin (and every other decentralized crypto).

Lightning relies on time locks to give one party time to respond to the other stealing. It's not just me handing you a check and we treat that as money, it's that we change the net balance on the check every time.

Let's say theres a channel with .5 btc on each side. If I want to send you .1, I just sign a check that has .4 going to me and .6 going to you.

But what if I then scam you by submitting the first .5/.5 check? The enforcement of off chain btc is the threat of going on chain. Part of the .5/.5 check is that it's invalid for a day after hitting the chain. That's my window to expose your fraud and punish you for trying to steal.

All of lightning security is that you have time to respond to attacks. That'd why you need to be online - to respond in that short time frame. It could be possible to extend the time lock to give better time to respond, and use a mobile app to watch out but the need to be online isn't going anywhere.

That being said, it's becoming less and less of a burden as time passes to be always online. This is really not the main thing holding back lightning, I think the bigger thing will be improvements on liquidity management and overall UI. Something like Muun is the greatest thing for new users because it is so simple and it "just works" most of the time.
