Silent payments does not make the transaction private.
Once you make a payment the address is exposed to the sender. Thats not privacy. Thats a prison sentance.
Money needs to be fungible. Money needs to be private to be fungible. Once you understand this Monero sells itself.
Bitcoiners will never hardfork to add privacy to Bitcoin so it will never be fungible. They will tell you to use L2 or else have fun staying poor. Thats their answer to everything.

After having spent about a week learning about how #Nostr works, I feel it’s time to change things up and add more about myself (without giving away too much of my own privacy).

• Since the age of 2, I was diagnosed with bilateral, progressive severe-to-profound hearing loss. Currently wear hearing aids, have high level lip-reading proficiency in speech comprehension, and speak orally really well despite all odds. Technically speaking, I am considered hard-of-hearing and/or deaf with a lowercase “d” since I do not communicate via sign language
• I like learning about #Bitcoin, Nostr, and #Monero. I personally feel these three, as #decentralized protocols and #proofofwork assets, are insanely valuable in their standalone right with its specific use cases. I can’t help but think we are quite literally on the brink of !unfathomable! change from our current, obsolete global financial system, and as nostr:npub1a2cww4kn9wqte4ry70vyfwqyqvpswksna27rtxd8vty6c74era8sdcw83a says: “nothing will stop this train”. I would say the business cycle existed before the central banks so they didn't 'cause' it but they are def. making it worse. They are just another clown at the clown show.
And worse in very real ways. During recessions families separate, suicide goes up, etc..
Central banks cannot stop a recession. It reacts to the recession and will lower rates as they chase unemployment higher.

I remember about 10 years ago using fax to transmit 1M trades from one mutual fund company to another and in my head i was always thinking 'wow, 13M is money transfers done by fax' I base it all on a confirmation page and I verify the followijg day.

I have 5 shops in town accepting bitcoin.. I doing the leg work... expanding awareness and Im NGMI apparently.
I have one restaurant doing about 100 euros a month. Owner is in his 60s. No Nostr or anything but he is doing his part. He doesnt insult people is they want to pay in other coins.. just says bitcoin only. Or euros. Thats it.
I'm having an issue adding XMR to the wallet or else I would be tipping in Monero.
