Day 37: #grownostr initiative

I was given four okra plants a few weeks ago but didn't have any space left in my new garden plot so I planted them a small bed that I used last year. Not only are the okra doing great, the mint and parsley I grew last year are coming back too.

I read a book once that described how Leonardo da Vinci used a method called mind mapping. It really helps with exploration of thought.

Day 35: #grownostr initiative

We conducted a test of different bedding using pine and corn cob pellets alongside wood shavings. We placed them in the goat pen while it rained and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of water the pellets absorbed. Normally the pen becomes muddy, but with the pellets it turned into almost a soft sand condition. I think both pellets did well, but if I had to pick one I would probable say the the pine did a little better (FYI the wood shavings just puddled up).

I had goats eat blackberrys I had in a pot waiting to transfer. They survived and are growing back nicely. Strawberrys aren't quite as hardy and resilient as blackberrys but as long as the roots weren't damaged too badly, they should be fine. Throw some mycorrhiza in to give the roots a boost.

What variety are you growing? The super sweet 100 is supposed to produce hundreds of very sweet cherry tomatoes per plant.

First tomato! Well there are actually 6 about this size on the 'Super Sweet 100' plants.

I saw some examples of that after I had already planted my garden. The placement in my garden wouldn't lend well to that due to some trees just outside the frame of this pic. I would like to try that next year though.

I made a trellis for the cucumbers and eggplant with some chainlink and a few t-post I had laying around. We will see how it works.
