I am now officially a 'real' programmer using n im for my coding and yesterday I had the revelation when it felt the first time as productive as Vscode when not a tad bit more productive.
It is crazy how steep the learning curve is but the benefit of the same env. on my two MacBooks, the Gaming rig, the home server, my wife's laptop, my daughter's laptop and at work is just fantastic 😍

I also switched to Graphene a couple of months now and it is surprisingly good. Maybe it is because I use anyway a lot of Open source tools. Everything exists maybe not that convenient but it works.
Honestly the only thing I really miss is pay by Google pay and I know it is silly because it tracks every transaction to create a nice profile but it was so darn convenient.

Crazy how much I love Linux, I switched a couple a week ago back to #Bazzite a Gaming Distro (mostly to play X4).
But interesting enough when I tried to develop on the machine it just makes fun, especially because you will need to set up containers for every move you take. Therefore, I always have a clean development env.
At first, it really restricted me, and I was multiple times thinking about to change my environment. But now after some playtime I love how everything works together. Also, my vim setup is finally complete and works quite nice out of the box.

Ah back home on #Linux <3, who knew that it is important to have a keyboard with wire in your home. All just to get rid of Windows 11.
Maybe still the UI is absolutely not gone through a lot of quality checks, left is a different 'b' than right and it looks not coherent at all.
I think some poor dev had to do something quite quickly without a big design in mind and without knowledge of BTC and the community surrounding it.

I think we should give them some time, if it is used more frequently they will improve it. I guess at the moment, it was more important to ship the feature than to make it beautiful.

Today I had a short session with some click events, I learned how to select an element that I show in #Godot and show a small UI for that selected element.
This allows me now to select for example my "Corral" and send the cows to the next location. This will be my task for tomorrow.
I don't know, but all that AI layoffs and AI development aka 'vibe coding' give me the feeling that there is coming a huge wave of more work for me in the future.
Maybe I am too optimistic, but there seem to be golden times for software engineers ahead.

Camera navigation
Yesterday I had a blast by creating some models that are probably total overkill, so for the corral and the pastures I decided to make just colorful circles for now.
Then I thought, let's invest some time in the camera and understand how I could best make it move. And after some research, I found some quite nice tutorial videos from Nanotech Gamedev about #RTS cameras.
This helped me to get up to speed and showed me again that we have to take everything into account. Also, I felt like I am currently in tutorial hell that I have to escape rather quickly and learn by adding my own stuff. The camera is now moving already, just not as "smooth" as I would love to have it. But I can zoom, mouse pan and pan with the keyboard. So it's basically already done, just needs some fine-tuning.

I sadly had that revelation also some months ago and used HuGO for a static website with a blog, works out great so far 🙂
I thought today about a small side project, it is quite hard in our city part to get information about the next real event. There are some sides and a lot of different providers of local services.
Most of the information I receive is about a local WhatsApp Group, but this leads to the issue that usually only one party is providing information. The general idea would be to get infos like events (for now manually) run it through an AI and categorize them and show them in a web app or mobile app.
This would maybe support the local community. Did you have such a problem in your community? How did you solve it?
Finally, I found some time to update my Bitcoin Wallet Tracker app that allows you to check your transactions, wallets and create profiles.
It took me quite a while to really rewrite nearly everything in order to make it more maintainable in the long run. Additionally, I was able to remove the 16 bit issue with Android. 🎉
So be patient and version 4.1.0 should be released after the review!

LLMs are really a pain from time to time. Today I had an issue that I updated my state with an empty array and my Claude CLI tried to rebuild half of the app instead of fixing the wrong assignment.
That's an interesting statement. So far, I never heard that something is too fast to Flutter 😉. The last thing I heard is that it is too slow so they created a "new Flutter".
I believe the real issue is more that the package maintainer do not really care about "the next version", else they could already work against Beta and Master channels. And this usually leads to issues during the release.
What would you suggest how that could be improved?
