I do like this… all about “get my stuff from the network” rather than “tell the server I’m here”.

But maybe I like “Load My Profile” better for it’s NOT being confused with “Search”.

"find me" ... would then search for nip-5 identifiers or profiles that fit the name? And the user would select his/her identity (in case of ambiguity?).

If there is no search involved I think "This is me!" would also be a good caption.

The pre-paid principle also extends to usage.

There used to be phone plans where you could pre-pay $10 where a SMS costs $0.10, one minute is $0.05 etc.

Fake zaps have in principle no difference from fake reviews. It's a bit harder to fake, but at scale there will be services automating it, just like there are services for fake reviews. Wot solves for both zaps and reviews, we solve wot - we get useful signal from any kind of interaction.

the ol' micropayment cognitive burden thing, it's just more complicated to keep track of and the deployment of it that is user friendly is also more complicated, like, how do you get around having to show the user their balance somewhere visibly all the time? green dot that turns orange maybe?

simply getting a DM warning that your sub is about due to pay is much simpler
