Thank you.

This pi hole thing is new to me and super interesting.

I will check it out.

I understand it requires that I have a device at home, running 24/7?

Or could I deploy it in cloud on a Linux VM and use to protect my home network, too?

Like, home router using my could VM IP as a DNS, would this work?

I agree.

There is no one metric that would encompass all we want, that is, how good is a given system for its citizens.

We certainly should look at multiple indicators.

And it's also interesting to think - how do we measure the results?

How to even evaluate the results of a given system?

Is it median purchasing power parity, per Capita?

Human development index?

Happiness survey scores?

Another issue, and I'm sharing this because I've been thinking about it as well, like what is the best system.

To what extent, if we look at results, can we attribute them to the system (rule of law, freedom, no violence, no corruption) vs other things (natural resources, history, dominant culture and values, better weapons (...)

I don't have the answer. It is probably nuanced.

Remember...

In success: guard your ego.

In anger: guard your words.

In a group: guard your behavior.

In hardship: guard your emotions.

When alone: guard your thoughts.

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.

Watch your words, for they become actions.

Watch your actions, for they become habits.

Watch your habits, for they shape your character.

Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.

On Thoughts in Solitude:

It is curious how, in the solitude of our chambers, we allow wild thoughts to roam unchecked, like runaway horses. Would it not be wiser, oh restless mind, to exercise the same control over your thoughts as you do over your conduct before others? Cultivate, then, thoughts worthy of you—especially when no one else knows them but yourself. For it is in solitude that we forge our demons or the waxen wings that lift us from this labyrinth.

On Behavior Among Men:

Just as the sea reflects the sky above, your behavior reflects your inner nature. Do you act as if life were a stage play, rehearsing your lines before men? Fool! Life is not a performance where you can prepare your script. Every gesture is a truth unveiled, every action a sentence etched into the memory of the world. Seek not applause, but harmony between your inner nature and your outward deeds.

On Guarding Words in Anger:

How often have I seen wise men turned into fools by rage! How strange it is that we allow anger—this fleeting madness—to make us speak words that will outlive our fury. Consider: is not a word spoken in anger like a wound self-inflicted? For in wounding others with harsh words, we first wound our own progress.

On Governing Emotions:

History has shown us how great men who conquered empires fell to the legions of their own passions! Emotions are not barbarians to be repelled, but forces to be understood and directed. Like a general who knows both the strengths and weaknesses of his army, we must learn to wield our emotions without becoming their slaves.

On Vigilance in Success:

Do you mock the beggar who finds a coin and considers himself rich? Look into the mirror of existence—do you not act the same? I have seen many who, lifted by Fortune, forget their mortal nature. Success, that sweet wine, intoxicates faster than any fermented drink. Remember always: the same Fortune that raises you today may cast you down tomorrow. Keep humility as your most faithful counselor, for it is the only one that will remain with you both at the heights and in the depths.

Cromite is a Ungoogled-Chromium fork with native ad blocking and password manager.

Ungoogled-Chromium is the best no-tor browser for privacy because it has no telemetry (Check https://spyware.neocities ) and it's great for those who like Google Chrome, it's basically the same browser, but without sync, telemetry and another Google services.

Thank you. I will check it out.

It's an option.

I thought about it.

I guess I like the convenience of chrome with password manager.

I know there are other options.

Just moving isn't super easy.

And I have habits.

But yes.

What is the best ad blocker for Chrome?

I'm using uBlock Origin but chrome says "may soon be unsupported"

Things like that.

Nothing superb.

But useful and fun and time saving.

I'm mostly using chat GPT.

I also run mistral on my laptop using ollama, but it is less powerful, but private.

Correct, while using the hosted DeepSeek app, which is censored, I guess.

But, I have heard people downloaded the model, open source, and ran it themselves, string hardware needed, it would give answers.

One more thought came to my mind.

You see, content creators often use platforms such as Sprinklr that allow them to post one post, automatically, to different social media platforms.

It would be super powerful and good for NOSTR, if you or someone convinced those platforms owners, to add NOSTR integration.

Then, for content creators using those platforms, it would be zero incremental work to post also on NOSTR.

Try also when walking, nose only, pause after out

Not sure how much it helps but I'm doing these things after reading several books about this
