"We appreciate your understanding" - This is such bullshit.

There is a line that's crossed when ideologies meet the herd mentality, and this is it.

This incessant demonisation and punishment of anyone and anything that doesn't abide by Western interests is infuriating. There is no discussion or separation from people and governments, there is only violence.

May their fiat rot in hell whilst they drown in their own ignorance and realisation of it.

I think they meant the fact that it just exists :D

I #selfhost #Nextcloud, and enjoy the Memories app to organise my #photos and auto-upload to server.

I'm looking for something like Memories, but family-oriented, where both me and my partner can make changes, upload, view, tag stuff, etc

I'm aware I can share my NC folder, but just looking to explore other potential possibilities.

Big bonus would be if besides photos and video, it also took sound recordings.

Any ideas? 😃

#satelliteearth - https://satellite.earth

#zapddIt - https://zapddit.com

These are reddit-like thread-based experiences, on Nostr. There seem to be two Bitcoin communities there however, unsure which is the most active. Because they're connected to Nostr, they work kind of like focused posts - They'll display on your usual timeline, but be targetted at users within the community you posted to.

That's indeed super weird..

We need to liven up the #Bitcoin #community over @ #satellite.earth 🤣 Get some #discussion going so we can ditch #reddit.

You're probably subscribed to the /r/btc subreddit. Just unsub and you should no longer get the notifs. Also, I imagine there should be a way to turn off notifs.

A lot of the following will, at this point in time, be mainly hypothetical, however, one thing is certain: Your UTXOs will be inherently linked to your meatspace identity.

Further, given the transparent nature of the timechain, you're creating an immutable link between your identity in a fiat world, now, and your Bitcoin position in the future.

When HyperBitcoinization comes to pass, you may be affected - Governments and platforms may censor your purchases - Even if you move to another wallet.

Your UTXOs are tainted and any UTXOs from certain addresses or that have passed through certain addresses may be refused, depending how address-depth sensitive.

Essentially anyone gaining Bitcoin via a KYC method now, *may* be doxxing their future selves.

Definitely not my thing, but happy to support improve the migration process for people looking to move their data from anywhere.

Mastodon feels like a step in the right direction, waayyyy too late..

Semi-decentralised (self-hosted servers) should've been the 2000's era, technology permitting.

But it wasn't.

I think it's what Tim Berners-Lee originally envisioned for around that timeframe, but centralisation won.

I think Nostr is outright skipping the "logical next step from centralisation" to full decentralisation because technology reached an inflection point that permits it.

But yeh, I shut my server down a few weeks after spinning it up and using it everyday... A lot of stuff was just missing (especially the ⚡ zaps⚡) or questionably designed.

EXIT.pub 0.3 is out!

✅ reliability improvements

This version is a significant improvement on reliability. When publishing events

fails, or a relay stops accepting your events, EXIT.pub will gracefully handle this

and will allow you to resume the publishing where it left off.

✅ Satellite CDN support

Now you can opt to buy storage on nostr:npub1lunaq893u4hmtpvqxpk8hfmtkqmm7ggutdtnc4hyuux2skr4ttcqr827lj 's CDN to store

all your images, instead of leaving them hosted on Twitter's servers.

*I have NO affiliation with this CDN, I don't get a cut or anything like that, I just like his service and its documentation, it's very Nostr-centric (upload to your Satellite CDN account by signing a nostr event proving who you are!)

✅ EXIT.pub relay

Until now, many relays were rejecting backdated events; if none of your relays accepted any event, EXIT.pub would not give you any feedback (if you clicked "publish events" and nothing happened, this is what was happening)

I have properly handled this now so you know what's happening, as well as added an wss://relay.exit.pub relay that will allow these imports; if EXIT.pub sees that your relays are all rejecting your imports, it will suggest you use this relay.

✅ Published relay breakdown

EXIT.pub will now show you exactly which relays have accepted each event.

✅ Reimporting events

If a previous run of EXIT.pub failed midway and you have *some* events imported, you can reimport those tweets, your events will *not* be duplicated, even if you imported previously without Satellite CDN and now you use Satellite CDN, the previous event with the Twitter-hosted images will be deleted.

Check it out!

Along with all the points on my banner, and now this, it's becoming increasingly difficult for people through rationale to NOT jump over to Nostr.

Really well done!

I see you also like DBZ? Would you know where I could watch episodes online maybe?

Also a huge DB fan here - If you end up not finding anywhere, I'd be happy giving you access to my Jellyfin server (or anyone else that might be interested, although slots are currently limited) 👍 It's becoming increasingly difficult to find it in good quality.

Bitcoin Cash != Bitcoin.

It's kind of sad how after all these years, they still grasp at every opportunity to reassure themselves. But also a little funny. Also, the title is clickbait (I fell for it dang it, got curious what the BS was about) :D

Are you ready, Neo?

Exploring #0xchat - Messaging built on top of #Nostr, supports #Bitcoin #Zaps!

It has all the initial signs of a great and welcoming UX.

Simple to use, and gets to the point.

Has a a discovery tab for communities via Open Channels.

Latest beta introduces voice & video calls.

What a wild ride it's been, imagine where we'll be in a year's time!

Imagine just interconnecting all these different clients, experiences under the same connection.

Nostr becomes ubiquitous.

I'm able to access my messages on the #Web, #Amethyst and on 0xchat, fit for different purposes but the way I engage and interact with these functions is up to me - The option is there.

We're slowly overcoming the need for transitional interoperability. One Protocol.

As an extra, freeing oneself from Microsoft as an eco-system is also possible. There are Office alternatives that are decent at this point in time and email providers are various.

Linux.

Keeping it simple, a rolling-release distro (for latest updates, such as Arch), Gnome as the desktop environment (although you might prefer KDE which is more traditional) and an appstore.

I'm also an avid gamer, no issues.

Some distributions actually come with everything you'll need pre-configured. BazziteOS if you do gaming is a good one. Pop!_OS, while not rolling-release, is an excellent option for first-timers, gamers included.

Just pull the trigger, and throw away any misconceptions you might have. Put in the effort (An afternoon maybe? Less?), look at software alternatives if need be, and I can almost guarantee you'll enjoy it. It's reach a huge level of polish in the UX compared to years ago.

Strongly recommend, and happy to answer any questions.
