Hodl BTC, train BJJ, eat MEAT. Preferably every single day.

"Indeed, in deeply corrupt institutions, there is simply no way to make it to the top without participating in the corruption."

Besides education and science, this got me thinking about politics, law enforcement, medicine, shit--basically everything?!?

Messing around a bit with my clock. (Bottom row of fees is: reject / minimal / low / med / high.)

Aqua, huh? Sounds interesting... Anyone have more info than the basic teasers?

I got mine on Amazon.

Some bitcoiners want to swim in a lovely river. Others celebrate their use of that river as a toilet and/or dump.

Different strokes, I guess...

I guess transaction fees alone might just sustain future miners after all...

Ordinals in the blockchain:

You're fishing in a lovely stream. All of a sudden, a turd floats by. Before long, 10,000 turds float by and the river starts to clog up. Upstream, a whole community of larping retards chant, "It's our stream, too! You have no right to ban our use case!"

Anyway, probably best to have something other than fish for dinner until the retards move on to some other dumb shit.

"Don't you know, pump it up."

"You got to pump it up."

...

It's a musical morning at my place.

Every once in a while, I try out running my own lightning node. Then I get bored of having to manage the channels and go back to another custodial solution.

As I think about trying again, who would you recommend opening channels to and why? How big should these channels be?

Hey WoS, I found a bug! Shouldn't it say "1 sat" not "1 sats"?

I know you're probably busy right now with other stuff, but let's get those grammars more betterer!

A UTXO is like money locked in a virtual box designed to accept a particular key.

A wallet can hold any number of keys, and a key can be held in any number of wallets, but wallets hold keys, not money.

You can spend any UTXO if you have the correct key, even if it's written on a napkin, but a good wallet makes it much easier.

To keep your bitcoin safe, you must secure your keys against both theft and loss. If someone finds a key, they can spend the corresponding UTXO(s). If the only remaining copy of a key is lost, the box will remain locked forever. So, make a few copies of your keys and keep them safe.

tl;dr; Buy two Coldcards and keep them in safe, separate locations.

Not to be outdone by X's new fee model, YouTube is starting a new crackdown on ad blockers. The message I just got suggests that maybe creators might get paid more (a lie) if i turn off my add blocker, and watch an ad or two every 2-3 minutes. That, or subscribe for ad-free.

-OR-

I'll go with, "Fuck You, YouTube. I'll find my videos elsewhere from now on."

I'll skip the security compromising, time wasting, never relevant bullshit, thanks.

Some of my friends are just now looking back and questioning whether they were recently lied to by politicians, academia, media, and the medical establishment. Good, I guess.

But they're still doing and advocating:

-getting flu shots

-eating an FDA-recommended "healthy diet"

-sending their kids to "public" schools

-letting their pediatrician inject whatever they want into their kids

-saving in dollars

-contemplating their pronouns

-working toward a "greener planet" by reducing their "carbon footprint"

-voting as a solution to anything

As if the people that lied to us constantly for years about one thing haven't been lying to us about everything else all along.

Almost all of them are corrupt. Almost all of us know it. Many of us are simply too comfortable to be bothered to do anything about it. Most people don't want to even think about it. Too uncomfortable.

I could go balls-out, convincing people to get on board. I could stand strong against the onslaught of ridicule so that my tormentors can protect their wealth too. But instead I went with, "Fuck 'em. I told them once, they'll figure it out eventually or they won't."

Am I a bad person if I just shut up and quietly stack more sats?

My thoughts exactly. I expect that pushing these things in front of trains is going to be really popular. I'm not endorsing this, but I understand it.

We all knew China was never going to go along with this ESG shit, right? That they were just saying the things they thought people wanted to hear in order to get paid and avoid pain. Now that they (and others) are calling it unrealistic out loud, that's game over, isn't it?

Rejecting the plan gets you cheaper energy and cheaper stuff. Which is a HUGE economic advantage.

Over time one group grows richer, one poorer. And people will notice.

It doesn't help that none of the dire predictions ever come true. I am not presently frozen in an ice age, dying from heat, underwater, or dead, despite using plastic straws and gasoline daily!

Once upon a time Ver and Jihan were stuffing the mempool to try to convince everyone that we needed bigger blocks or else, I simply moved everything to cold storage and went away for a few years.

My pain as a bitcoin believer was from seeing that these guys were delaying the inevitable progress of bitcoin. From not wanting to wait so long for a future I still think is coming. Peace came from accepting reality, and finding patience.

Once I wasn't so angry, I could start to think about how I could help. I'm pretty lazy and have other interests, but I like to think I'm at least a slightly positive force in the space.

Eventually, those running this scam will run out of funds. In the meantime, more miners are deployed, more people get burned and learn, and second- and third-layer protocols advance.

I can personally wait, pay a high fee, or use lightning or liquid. The scammers have to pay, and keep paying, to keep the fees high. They can't do it forever though.

Careful, that might be a sleeping Ent!

Ugh. Tried sending sats from Strike to Mutiny.

Strike popped an error: "Payment failed. Please contact support."

The sats are gone from Strike, but did not arrive in Mutiny... Has anyone else seen this happen?

Mutiny's receive invoice was a unified format (bitcoin: ...?lightning=). Does Strike perhaps choke on these?

I think it's still rolling out. The easiest way would be to wait a few days and keep an eye on which version the Play Store is offering you. It'll magically go from 1.4.something to 2.0.1 once Google decides you are worthy. (probably a few days at most)

The harder way is to manually upgrade. Check github. I'm patient (lazy) so I didn't try this method.
