If you’re serious tho and want a quick tutorial, message me any time. Or probably anyone else here for that matter

I’ll get back to you. Hopefully. Eventually.

Why?

I reposted an explanation of such by #[5]

not that long ago

I’ve heard, just figured it might be better than no options.

Ah. Sorry. What about signal, same issues there?

Fun facts about Telegram:

* has its own shitcoin

* is not end to end encrypted by default

* doesn’t support encrypted group chats

* is Russian owned

* is centralized

Nostr holds the promise of being an alternative, but in the meantime, I recommend checking out the matrix protocol: https://matrix.org/

One good client for it is https://element.io/

“But what about Signal?”

Signal is okay, and a better alternative to a lot of chat apps but it’s centralized, and has privacy issues (you have to sign up with a phone number). Its creator Moxie doesn’t seem to think decentralization is a good idea (in general) and expresses his views at length here: https://youtu.be/Nj3YFprqAr8

Interesting 🤙

I’ve also heard of/noticed some NOSTR messaging options as well, have you? Or tried any? Altho makes sense if encryption/privacy is your primary concern relay-based-decentralization may not be necessary per se

If you analyze a sentimental statement like “that was the BEST coffee I ever had!” literally and logically… it will almost certainly be easily proven false. And there’s something to say about the need for clear, literal, grounded communication, especially when discussing truth-essential topics and working out differing perspectives.

But if YOU choose to respond in such a way without some utility prompt, who’s really being more disingenuous? The speaker, or the out-of-context analyzer? You or them?

Human beings have the universally available but scarcely* utilized capability to be radically unique.

Had the same thought. Looot of potential solutions through specialized relays: for directories, segregated types/sizes of data, accessibility&functionality vs. price@ease-of-access, reducing/alternative prices;

Like tourist opportunities that exist in both rural and urban contexts, but vary in purpose and form.

Hey ya know, some people pass through our lives quicker than others 🤷‍♂️😂

Favorite Aeneid quote from today:

“some searched for the seeds of flame, which lie embedded in the veins of flint.” 😯

For me it’s the overbearing GUI w constant updated but slower performance… on a brand new PC. 🙄😒

I think I’ll just go hug a real person first, but if I find the time or that doesn’t work out this’ll be the next thing I try. 😌😉😂

Btw, I found this too — https://www.nostr.net/

It’s a curated list of nostr projects and resources, so you can look through there for anything else you’re interested in. FAQs too.

Should be updated as new ones are added.
