“Just this morning, nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m put out a tweet asking for Julian to be pardoned. It’s great to see that support still out there… this conviction has essentially put a muzzle on Julian Assange.” — nostr:npub1dcgppk89h9flnffrznvhhj2vt9a0ym23ht5gk07l9j8m6l5k95qsze06js with nostr:npub1hu3hdctm5nkzd8gslnyedfr5ddz3z547jqcl5j88g4fame2jd08qh6h8nh

Since Assange was charged under Trump and he had quite a strong (and retarded) opinion about him back then, I think it's quite unlikely Assange is pardoned. Trump would have to admit he was wrong and that's rather unlikely to happen

They're not out of power, it's just that different ones are in power now. Most Dems and Republicans are just two sides of the same deeply corrupted and authoritarian coin. The Trump/Musk/Project2025 coalition is an extreme form and in their first two weeks in power have proven to be the most heavily censoring government already

Imo, your best hope now is to fix things at State level

The choice is easier if you're into Oompa Loompa's, as those are censored on X these days. It's funny because it's quite a similar to Winnie the Pooh in China, but it's not a joke)

This makes #nostr the last free speech platform

So, as of yesterday "free speech" platform X has started censoring posts comparing Trump to Oompa Loompa. The same way you can't compare Xi Jinping to Winnie the Pooh. Elon is such a grifting clown 🤡

However, #nostr fixes this

⬇️ this is impossible to post on X, it just disappears

After two weeks of sending emails up and down with customs and calling the shipper to resolve an unlawful charge, we’re finally going to receive our shipment from the US. Apparently last month the customs did an update of their system and 4 year old incorrect data of companies became the main data. We had to sign a document with an address where we were located 4 years ago, so we made them aware that we have all customs documentation and import permits and this is totally incorrect. After sending reminder mails and calling multiple times there was still no clarification or response. The last call was really startling. They said it was such a mess at customs, so many problems it was unbelievable. They were going to do their best for us. After reminding them last night that we still didn’t get any mail or confirmation the below short text finally came.

“Customs has made the necessary adjustments. Your shipment has been released.

You no longer need to make payment for the receipt of your shipment.”

We’ve spend many many hours on this. Having a business in EU you spend most of your time on (taxes, laws, insurance, banks, payment providers, customs, shippers, lawyers, scammers etc) constantly delivering endless documentation to all kinds of parties. Also the amount of questions and information we had to supply with our banks is utterly insane.

Luckily we’ve got everything in order but it’s a huge pain. Our admin files folder has hit over 20k documents to store for tax purposes. If you think running a company is fun, would like to repeat some famous words “it’s like eating glass”. And it’s not because it’s painful from the positive developments, it’s always the majority of time spend on the leeches of our society. The world has to move to a bitcoin standard.

Certainly true if you do business outside EU borders and one of the reasons why tariffs are so harmful. The cross-border administrative BS is not unique to the EU by the way. Within EU borders however, the hassle is >95% less in my own experience.

Looks like a cool meetup, but it doesn't look like Indonesia 🤔 Or is this some tourist hotspot in Bali?

Trump prioritized scamming people with yet another shitty meme coin instead of freeing Ross on Day 1 as he promised

And many Bitcoin "maxis" don't only not see the problem, but actively try to find lame excuses for inexcusable behavior, broken promises and even buying wrapped BTC on Ethereum 😵‍💫

Seems Bessent is not up to date though. China already started slashing permits for new coal plants early last year (by >80%) and the amount of fossil plants they build is now tiny compared to renewables

China added more renewable capacity in 2024 alone than the US has built in it's entire history. The direction China is going is very clear, and it's not fossil

The formal name of the Maastricht Treaty is even "The Treaty on European Union". It's the foundation document of the EU and includes agreements on the use of a single currency.

It feels like we don't share the same definition of concept of "EU" somehow? When was your EU founded and how is the EC not a predecessor and integral part of it?

The EEC was always an integral part of what has been the EU since the Maastricht Treaty in 1993, not something separate. What am I missing?
