we should have a nostr app for friendly competitions on this PoW. keep us all healthier! 🚶‍♀️🚶🚶‍♂️

yeah, I think corporate open source is often about “commodi⁣tiz⁣ing your com⁣ple⁣ment” as Joel Spolsky put it and Gwern summarized:

"foster⁣ing so much com⁣pe⁣ti⁣tion in an⁣other layer above or below its layer that no com⁣pet⁣ing mo⁣nop⁣o⁣list can emerge”

https://gwern.net/complement

prob strategic, but a nice side-effect that it creates net-benefit for the world

“At the same time, this makes the point: Meta could be a massive beneficiary of Apple’s devices being able to do generative AI on the edge. After all, what apps might take advantage of that? Facebook and Instagram! And where would the output be seen by most people? On Facebook and Instagram!”

#[0] did a great analysis of #[1] blog post https://fiatjaf.com/ab1127fb.html "Bluesky is a scam" - and as much as I hate to agree on this since it is work being done by a lot of people I follow and admire, I agree with the analysis. That is why I #Nostr

The area that I feel needs work is Identity on #Nostr - the decentralized approach brings some interesting challenges, but that will only bring additional innovation. Let's not waste the work done by DecentralizedIDFoundation e.g. https://identity.foundation/ion/

thanks for appreciating it, Frank! 🤙

now i just need plants so that my background can keep up with yours 😝😝😝

i just ordered faster upload internet! 😆😆😆

thanks for appreciating! 🤙 💜

i’m having a convo/videopod with #[0] in 15 minutes!

what should i be asking him about?

Bluesky vs. Nostr with Rabble

I wanted to further understand the tradeoffs between the two so I invited #[0] to a conversation to share his experience

“they can’t cancel me if i’ve cancelled myself” 😝

possible, but seems unlikely to me

other protocols like smtp/http/btc basically aggregate to one protocol per purpose. bridges eventually capitulate?

prediction: Bluesky becomes a client of nostr before Twitter becomes a client of nostr

but in the long run we’re all clients of nostr 🤙
