Those running Blossom servers, or other media hosting for Nostr, or really, just running relays that store notes that may link to media content: How should we address this issue?

It seems to me that relays and media storage servers will need to either be unable to tell what kind of content is being stored on their server, since it is encrypted, or they will need to actively moderate the content.

I have long referred to HOAs as small communist oligarchies.

Babysitting trainees at work today, so pretty chill day overall.

Interesting... I am not on iOS to make any recommendations to try, but if you are having the issue on both Primal and Damus, there may be something more going on that is beyond me.

I generally just use web clients on desktop, such as nostrudel.ninja, coracle.social, or ditto.pub. However, I have heard good things about Gossip.

What client are you using? I have been seeing this from folks using Primal. See if it is just that particular client that has the issue by logging in on another client and trying to follow someone.

Leave it to nostr:npub1q3sle0kvfsehgsuexttt3ugjd8xdklxfwwkh559wxckmzddywnws6cd26p to turn literally every Mastodon client into a #Nostr client. 🤣

I suppose it's time to get productive. But first, coffee.

Someone help me out to see if I am onto something, or if my non-technical brain is not understanding how this stuff works.

We want to be able to have private relays for groups, that the notes published to those relays can't be arbitrarily rebroadcast out to other public relays by anyone with read access to the relay, right?

What if private relays required a multi-sig before the note was stored on the relay, one from the note author and one from the relay owner, who set a policy to automatically sign any note received from a white-listed npub? As I understand it, a multi-sig signature can look like a single signature in some signing schemes, so any other public relay would be expecting the note to just be signed by the author, and reject it since the signature wouldn't match that author's single signature, but the private relay, and any client reading from it, would expect it to be signed by both the author and the relay, and would verify it.

Am I just not understanding how this all works, or is this a theoretical possibility?

Title was a little bit of clickbait but def q bit over the top to censor!! Human sensitivity is a feature and bug!!

I watched the video. Most of the actual content was good. That is not what communism means, and is borderline defamatory.

Communism is NOT everything becoming so abundant that there is no need to have private property, and that will never happen anyway. That simply is not what communism is. Rather, it is defined by state ownership of the means of production. Without that, it's not really communism at all, and therefore inaccurate to characterize Jeff Booth as a communist.

When you characterize someone as a communist when they absolutely are not, but actually believe in the principles of private property and free markets, that isn't just click-bait. That's being intentionally dishonest for attention.

Until we have a way to connect to one another on the internet other than TCP/IP, EVERYTHING sees whatever IP address you are presenting it with, whether that it is yours, your VPN provider's, or that of a Tor exit node (if I understand correctly how Tor works).

Nostr is not an exception.

First note! Officially a #nostrich now!

Glad to have you here!

The arrest of Telegram founder, Pavel Durov, is just another example of why can't be censored is preferable to won't be censored.

This is why we #Nostr.
