Yes this point is correct. I thnk it would be worth it, that clients try to implement thos metrics in a opt in way. This way it is possible to try them without harm. When it does not work, it will go to have no big effect then.

Why GM? I mean you are all nice people. And at work it is normal to GM everyone when coming. But in a social network I am kimd of to tired. And it feels like too much effort for me writing it, when it then does not lead to any reactions...

But could be very difficult to find new legit user when I set the score too high.

Read through it. Web of trust is a score. You would get 0 at iniciation of the npub. With every follow, that follows you back, you get a plus. And with every follow of a person you get blocked you will get minus. When I would say I only see posts of People above 3 every bot would at least to lounch three new npubs to have one personalized attack.
I would not want to spend significant batterylive to send notes, likes and posts. When it would be somewhere around 0.2 seconds of smartphone power, yes. But you have to think of all the majority of people that have old smartphones to build this up without rejecting poorer users.

I think socialmedia which use algorythms to promote aggressive language, provocation with no other intention then to provoke someone, this does not add to free speech. It rather obligates people to read this in favor of decent more calm language.
But you are also right in the way, that hatespeech is defined from the reader and no objective measurement. And to defend democracy, we need to accept critique in all forms and allow bad language. It should rather be critiqued as well and be distrusted by the public instead of censoring it by police.
I think the Web of Trust score could may help with less effort.

Yes. And in the end it does not help the privacy space to neglect this thematic. It rather leaves behing people with good intentions to not even do the minimum they were willing to improve privacy.

Currently I feel, Signal is very popular and is for me trustworthy enough to believe it is very good for my privacy.
