I had this friend who had two older sisters.

When he was 13 his dad’s affair was exposed and his parents got divorced. Blindsiding all the kids and destroying what they thought was a happy family.

Later both his sisters got married and promptly cheated on their husbands destroying their marriages. One even getting pregnant by another man.

We were talking about it one day and I said “isn’t it interesting that both of your sisters cheated before they could be cheated on by the men in their life, as sort of a trauma response to the fathers affair”

He looked at me and was like “I don’t think the two things have anything to do with each other”

I think about that conversation a lot.

I haven’t been able to nuke my X account yet but I’m making a commitment to not use the ‘For You’ feed anymore. It puts me in such a negative headspace sometimes and I just don’t like the idea of how I’m being manipulated.

That’s one of the main things I love about Nostr. And it’s already changing my habits elsewhere. 🙌🏼

I am here because I believe music should belong to artists and fans, not middlemen. Artists deserve the freedom to create without compromise, to keep full control, and to earn directly from the people who value their work. Fans deserve more than shallow feeds and algorithms. They deserve a real connection and a better way to experience music.

This is what open networks make possible. A new system for creativity, ownership, and discovery.

I’m so happy that Nostr exist so I have some kind of social media that isn’t a completely unhinged brainwashing clickbait experience.

Everyday the experience on the other apps gets more and more extreme, deranged, and frankly scary.

Hot take: whoever scores more points today is going to win this game.

The endless graft, prostitution, and sycophantry found in contemporary social media is so endlessly dark and nihilistic that you would really think it’s just a dark forest out there. A pointless dark world where lies, theft, and guile are the only form of real power. That there is no purpose, reason, or greater meaning to life itself—just a black nothingness.

Truth is there is something much greater to this existence, and that is much more scary than nothing at all. It means we actually have a purpose and reason for existence, and that these projections of darkness are really just a means of manipulating all of us. The media apparatus projects the shadows on the walls and gives microphones to the most callow and anxious to make these shadows real. While they are little more than shadows on the walls, most people will believe it because they too are in bondage, chained before the wall, incapable of turning back to see how the sunlight is manipulated for such dark purposes.

Most people are good and are deeply craving a world of honor, dignity, and reason; they are just incarcerated into a fiat bondage, and conditioned through fear and terror. We have all just been captured by a fiat world view for so long that to reason outside and beyond it without a means to fight it (i.e. bitcoin) is utterly impossible. That is why the understanding of what bitcoin offers in contrast to fiat is so important, as it becomes a way to see through the dark forest and understanding that it is not dark at all, but merely a projection of power, a means of control through presenting only one view. To turn and see how the light is projected to make this dark forest, the shadows on the wall creates a new and different means of power. A power of reason and meaning, where the possible of breaking the chains of bondage is a real possibility, but only with this knowledge.

Honestly one of Nostr’s best features is that every client breaks every now and then.

Forces you to log into another one and - boom - suddenly you’re like damn, things got way better over here.

At this point the income tax needs to be halted immediately. The mishandling of American taxpayer money that is being laid bare is beyond comprehension.

The people, at the very least, deserve a break from the madness until we figure out what’s going on.

It's laughable how little most people understand about money, finance, debt, opportunity cost, and markets.

It's also laughable how little most people still know about crypto. Outside of Bitcoiners, most couldn't tell you the first thing about how their favorite shitcoin works. Even simple questions like total supply and block times will be met with a blank stare.

This is nothing to be upset about. That's our edge. That's why Bitcoin isn't 10 million dollars. From an altruistic perspective I might want people I like to get it, but outside of that, they'll get the price they deserve.
