I came to the same conclusion yesterday. I’m on holiday with the fam and we try and not use our phones to much and be present in the holiday/company. I kept getting drawn back to twitter and doom scrolling. I decided to delete the app and have a break. So instead of complete cold turkey, I thought why not give Nostr another go and so far it’s been way more engaging and positive, also after a few mins I’m board and not dragged into all the mire of twitter. So all good.

One of my brothers just sent me a video of someone comparing their shopping bill from 2021 and if they bought in 2024. It was a significant increase. He just sent me a note under saying “…….=Bitcoin”

Hopefully this is another step for him grasping that while we are in the fiat world we will continue to be stollen from. Until we start holding some (or all 🤪) of our wealth in Bitcoin we will continue to see our wealth be diluted like the video he shared with me.

He is so close now! I just need to be patient and remember how it was for me starting on this journey and all the touch points along the way that lead me to Bitcoin.

People are stating to realise and when they do it will be like a snowball growing and gaining momentum. I just hope and pray that my family will get it sooner rather than later.

So I understand that on Nostr you can’t be censored or removed. That’s good. But in the UK people have been arrested and convicted for saying things the state doesn’t like “hate speech”. If you identity is known on your nostr account. I know they can’t take it down but they could still come to your door and arrest you. Have I got that right?

How much should a non technical person worry about this? If you buy a hardware wallet direct from the company and comes sealed etc. is this safe to assume it’s not been tampered?
