Who is it that made the nsec.app tool again? I'm trying to figure out how to transfer my username and I can't for the life of me find anything in #nostr search.

(this is still a big roadblock i hit alot on nostr, searching for notes is super unreliable)

I successfully migrated all my machines (laptop, desktop, cell phone) to open source operating systems.

I am past the point of no return. I'll never run windows on a PC again.

With that in mind next time I build a PC for gaming I want to optimize it for Linux. Any tips on what hardware or Linux distribution to consider in that case?

“We all know?” … and if “we” don’t know her website?… and what about an influencer without a domain… or a way to attach nip05 to it? … these people exists and they are stuck with a paid nip05… which verifies nothing for the end user.

So no… in addition to my points above… nip05 alone is not a solution to remedy imposter accounts.

Not for users it wouldnt. Take a look ar those screenshots. And go see for yourself, so many instances where nip05 nostr addresses are not even displayed.

Even so… people search for and look at photos and names.(either Name or display name).

The problem is that PEOPLE are being fooled.

The solution is much more complicate than a simple algo can fix…

There are some scammers on Nostr impersonating me and posting sketchy links, just like on Twitter/X.

When I was a teen, my stepfather decided to pay us kids cash for chores. He thought it would be a great way to get things done around the house. I agreed. As a kid, any extra cash was great! I should point out that I did not need incentives to do the things he asked in the first place, but for whatever reason he thought he’d do it this way. So he’d make a list of things to do, thinking it would take a while to complete. Well, I was so motivated that I finished all of the tasks the same day. I added up all the money he owed me, smiling and thinking about all the things I could buy. I show him all of the things completed, expecting a nice payout and … nothing happens. No new crinkly dollar bills in my hand. Ok. So I don’t want to be annoying and say nothing, thinking maybe later …

The next day, no payment.

The day after, nothing.

The day after that I pointed out that we had an agreement But instead I get some excuse.

At that point it was abundantly clear I would never collect that chore money. This destroyed any trust I had in this person from that moment on.

Yeah, I get it, he was already providing for us and I should be thankful, and I was. But, making a promise you don’t keep is a big no. The sad part is that I did not need this incentive in the first place.

That’s all. That’s the story.
