It’s not free speech they care about. they ignore whatever does not appear to be a threat to their quest for power, and slander whatever is. If they thought the first amendment would help get them power, they would be it’s greatest champions.

Power is the only law to them.

I'm a fan of homeschooling as a way to give kids a better chance at a fruitful and productive life, and play the long game. For so long, the state and the kinds of people who rise up in those systems have had too much power over the education system.

They rig it in favour of themselves, and the education bureaucrats couldn't care less about your child. They will teach all kinds of nonsense statist propaganda, and not teach useful life skills to your kid anyway.

Your child in statist school has a chance of facing bullying by other kids, and anti social behaviour generally in public schooling systems. 'Private schooling' doesn't even seem that much better because the curriculum and style still has to follow a lot of the public schooling methods.

Also remember with public schooling, your kid won't get the time to focus and properly learn things. Instead it's 50 minute classes where they don't want to be there, and the bell rings and it's time for the next class. The teachers have to teach at the pace of the slowest kid in class. No time to build up a deep focus on things. No time to really become creatively engaged in a project, and be a real self starter who sees a project to fruition.

I believe homeschooling and unschooling can change this dynamic. It's a perfect match for bitcoiners who are generally more freedom minded.

This became a lot more real to me recently, as I had a son this year and I intend to homeschool him + future kids our family has.

Are you a fan at all of Peter F Hamilton? His books/series are very long and many of the series tie together. I've only read The Void series so far, but it was excellent. Super Sci-Fi.

We can rotate keys, but if you discard them, you won't see the messages address to that key anymore. In all cases, you will need a collection of all your past receiving keys to move to a new phone, for instance.

It’s honestly kind of a mistake to listen to so much at once because it’s all kind of depressing when grouped together so tightly. The harshness of life for a random person for thousands of years in every culture.

Between all the cool invention and discovery there is just an endless variety of war, raids, famine, slavery, serfdom, and torture. =/

Based takes on US Presidents:

Washington - The greatest thing he did was to step away. He gave Hamilton too much credit for the growth of the economy when it was central banking taking from the future.

Jackson - He did the right thing in ending the Second Central Bank. His presidency was one of the best ever. Unfortunately, he controlled things a bit too much when he was out of office. Should have just retired and shut up.

Lincoln - Autocrat and grabbed way too much power, especially with the greenback. He also changed the nature of the federal government by taking autonomy away from the states.

Wilson - The entire progressive agenda was a disaster. Income tax, prohibition and direct election of senators were the beginning of the end for states' rights. His bringing us into WWI was inexcusable and a bold-faced lie.

FDR - He is Wilson just with a better smile. He did even worse in WWII by giving Stalin anything and everything. Essentially made the USSR a dominant power. He also took us off the gold standard by suspending convertibility. The fact that he was popular does not excuse the ridiculous Keynesian policies and the authoritarian rule that he exercised, particularly in foreign policy.

Ford/Carter/Reagan/Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama - All pretty much the same, continuing the same policies post 1971 and getting us into unnecessary wars while debasing the dollar strategically.

First off I'd try connecting remotely to your node from Zeus using either LNC or Tailscale. Tor is quite unreliable.

On insufficient balance, you may need some more outbound lightning channels or just need time for your new channels to propagate.

There are only three truly censorship resistant technologies at scale today: tor, bitcoin, and nostr.

All are currently niche…showing most of the world doesn’t actually care about censorship.

Granted, these technologies aren’t yet accessible or easy to use. But…they will be!
