Welcome to #thenostr π€
It was mounted on a hollow interior door fahsioned up by a 2x4 stand of sorts. Does that change your opinion? I'm feeling out the market here lol
Alleged art. $1000.
The blues were varied. I thought it was a pretty clever display. I tried to get both arrangements. I was also carrying a bag of deep fried jalapeΓ±os so its an odd angle. There was another with a broken wine bottle with moss roses as spilt wine, but there was a bunch of people around it ruining any hope of a good shot.
It's been bad recently. I can't type, I can't read, I break everything. I saw something here and took a picture for you, Dan the Flower Man...

Can somebody lift typo curse, please?
Somebody's making midway memories tonoght.
Not me. This is lame. π

Sort of....
You'd want to check out what nostr:nprofile1qqsw8tha4zrj22njem340rfnktwdjr5lu5achmtrglh4ufhhggg6mwcpz4mhxue69uhkzat5dqhxummnw3erztnrdaksz9nhwden5te0wfjkccte9cc8scmgv96zucm0d5xemw9z is doing with #hamstr for more details.
I'm tired & going to bed early. I kinda feel bad that I don't even have a semi-interesting picture to share today, but I guess some days are just plain, even in my weird world.
Nostr has been anything but plain today, though. Ham radio zaps, sharing some feedback, checking in on new friends and ones that i can say are "old friends" because we've been chatting for a couple years now. I am very grateful. Nostr may be a little quieter lately, but that's a good time to be a little more candid. It's also a good time to consider what's next. We get our houses in order before the guests arrive. I think that's part of maturing. π
27 says received while I was typing out the above reply haha, this is so cool!
This was what I had read about. There's a bunch of radio talk in the linked Twitter thread that I don't understand but you probably will. One immediately special thing I notice about your send, was zero coordination. You totally took me by surprise! I'm glad I happened to be scrolling aimlessly at that moment. I saw the incoming notification from Minibits but no Nostr notification so I had to check it out. The attached message was perfect! I was shocked & impressed.
I don't, I haven't even touched it. Partly because of AI burnout, but I also just really enjoy writing for the sake of it. It's like therapy π
That's good news! I'm glad they're starting narrow it down. Hopefully its something minor, but even things like stints and pacemakers are often outpatient procedures these days. Try to take it easy π«
Sometimes I forget about all the apps Iβve vibed, thinking no one uses them. And then randomly I see a person mention they use it like nostr:npub1cgcwm56v5hyrrzl5ty4vq4kdud63n5u4czgycdl2r3jshzk55ufqe52ndy did with Untype.
I should probably take a weekend to go through and take inventory of all of them and clean them up and improve from time to time.
π« Maybe you could put some of them somewhere accessible so people could contribute, too? Many hands make light work, and all that.
Untype solved big problems for me, even with its quirks. I see a lot of others vocalizing the same issues about long-form clients. If you could open source it & get it cleaned up a little bit, I don't think it would take very long for it to become one of the more widely used writing tools.
Any progress on knowing or at least eliminating possibilities?
Ah, that would be amazing! Its really minor stuff compared to most of the other writing clients:
The text box sometimes holds what appears to be a blank copy of the previous publication so its really easy to overwrite your own work by accident.
The eventIDs aren't easily searchable, I'm guessing because they don't have a prefix, but maybe it's a format thing(?). That's getting to the barriers of my understanding.
The sign in button on the bottom of the screen is the only one that works. The predominant one is a decoy lol
The cursor automatically moves your place to the bottom of the text box when you click some random spot in the text, like to fix a typo pre-publish, which is jarring & confusing.
It has still become my go-to though
I'm sure he'd make it available if someone was interested in improving it.
I got a message asking if I officially sent the first Bitcoin via lightning network over ham radio with my zap to nostr:nprofile1qqsvyv8d6dx2tjp33069j2kq2mx7xage6w2upyzvxl4pcegt3t22wyspz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7qfqwaehxw309ashqmrpvdjkjmn5dpjhxatw9ehx7um5wgcjucm0d5hszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz78tw7lf.
I think this is the first zap for sure on ham radio, but it very wellight be the first LN invoice to ever get paid using only ham radio too. I know on chain has, and cashu has.
But I am unsure on LN payment. Maybe the community can chime in if anyone has a note, or tweet, or video on someone sending sats this way.
Thanks!

Iirc, NVK was the first lightning over ham person, but I sure hope I am a little part of the first lightning over nostr over ham transaction with you π₯³ I don't even know which note you zapped, but thank you! It's an honor!
General writing:
- Habla .news is deteriorating but used to work great, attaches repetitive zap splits on editing though.
- Yakihonne .com work great sometimes, but hangs on publishing a lot. Can't save drafts because it also hangs there.
- Cypher .space works & even respects format on copy/paste but publishes with invalid eventIDs.
- Untype .app is half built but always works to publish. If you've published once, the blank page upon returning to the app is actually an empty edit of the last publication so it's easy to overwrite your own work by accident. Always click 'new'.
- Highlighter .com looks pretty, but has never successfully published for me. It's very nice for reading though. I don't end up there for that very often, as I do more reading from spontaneous discovery.
- Obsidian extensions work great. I'm just not organized enough to use Obsidian regularly.
More specialized writing:
- Wikifreedia .xyz was flawless but I've only written there once. Nice reading experience.
- Alexandria .gitcitadel .eu appears to work until I go looking for my publications, then I can't find them anywhere.
- Zap .cooking might be very specific long-form but it works great. I really wish more reading places supported its output. Spoiled me wishes they'd continue developing it.
As far as reading goes, I end up reading most in Amethyst because I'm being lazy when I'm reading & it formats damn well for a social app. Reading on npub .pro sites & oracolo .me sites is generally nicer if looking for a specific author's words, though. Reading on Alexandria is nice, but the colors are a little too similar for my eye comfort. Opposite of Primal, which is too high contrast for my eyes. I'm pretty neutral on other places that I've read. No news is good news, in that sense.
How many longform apps have you tried?

b) 1

For writing, 6. For reading, god knows. Probably more than twice that.
I like untype.app for writing. It's got some wonky unfinished stuff, since nostr:nprofile1qqsph3c2q9yt8uckmgelu0yf7glruudvfluesqn7cuftjpwdynm2gygpp4mhxue69uhhjctzw5hx6egpz9mhxue69uhhytntda4xjunp9e5k7qgjwaehxw309amk7apww468smewdahx2thapxc just kind of vibed it into existence on whim... but it always works, which has been my biggest battle with all the others I've tried.
Amethyst is a great app! I use it all the time. Its got a ton of features that interact with other Nostr stuff. You can do all sorts of crazy things with it. What kind of confusion are you having?
I π Nostr!
nostr:nprofile1qqsdcnxssmxheed3sv4d7n7azggj3xyq6tr799dukrngfsq6emnhcpspzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtcprdmhxue69uhhg6r9vehhyetnwshxummnw3erztnrdakj7qg3waehxw309ahx7um5wghxcctwvshs6dhdqa if you happen to come across anyone who might be interested in putting attention into getting a separate dynamic voting instance going, please let fiatjaf know. It would be great to have a comparative example & another browsable feed. I'm having a hard time thinking of anyone who would have the wherewithal & foresight to establish it with a different focus than the spatianostra group has. It really should be a completely different social circle, so the content doesn't just equalize into a replica right away. Nostr might just be too small yet, but I think it's better to have multiple people with their mind on the subject, in case a fitting scenario should arise.
Who's going to start a builder buddy outreach program? π
That doesn't sound easier at all π but I get what your saying.
I am talking a lot about wss://relays.land/spatianostra recently, not just for the feed itself but for the idea. The dynamic voting concept has serious potential to diversify feeds by the general ethos/politics/interests of any set of users. That becomes really powerful as Nostr relay browsing gains client-side momentum. Communitoloes can form more organically.
The spatianostra feed itself is simply an example of an easily accessible, non-capturing, curated feed. It is not controlled by anyone, just guided. We've tailored towards giving those new to Nostr a welcoming place to browse & discover nice content & people, because there has been a need for that. Try to imagine other feeds composed of high-signal information or mostly [insert any political slogan here] or a completely different feel, like the #βοΈ , all available in a click or two, with curation being a low-barrier action for participating voters.
There is lots of room for competition in creating unique feeds that users enjoy browsing. Eventually, there will be more incentive to earn placement in various feeds as well. There needs to be more stuff like this to showcase some of what makes Nostr unique and to provide people with options. The wide-open part has proven to work pretty well. And spatianostra is helping to prove that you can take chunks out & not effect that openness at all. It's not a walled garden, it's a nice little picnic spot on this vast & beautiful planet. That might be a cheesy analogy, but I bet you can't scroll that feed and honestly tell me that I'm wrong. π
Well... it's Dawn & nostr:nprofile1qqsymsh9wrz5lmurz0arqn6jjaqyfmtvz2z3qpfxqz5msnvr0wqjd7gprdmhxue69uhhg6r9vehhyetnwshxummnw3erztnrdakj7qg3waehxw309ahx7um5wghxcctwvshszymhwden5te0wahhgtn4w3ux7tn0dejj7w78rt6 and a bunch of others' feed of voted on content running on nostr:nprofile1qqsrhuxx8l9ex335q7he0f09aej04zpazpl0ne2cgukyawd24mayt8gprfmhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hszxmhwden5te0wfjkccte9emk2um5v4exucn5vvhxxmmd9us2xuyp 's software & hardware as an experiment in content curation. Bohemia & I have taken spearheading initiative on voting.
Its really cool. It's dynamic voting through shares earned by having content approved by the group.
Everything an author's note gets voted into the feed, they earn 1 share.
Some people want to live in a decent home, others want to live in a decent community.
This turned out well.
Water, salt, sugar, sriracha, soy sauce, pepper, garlic, and thyme. 2 days brining, 3 hours with alder.
Whatever you decide, be sure to include your npub π
Message in a bottle, if you're near a shore. π If not, maybe a time capsule for future you.
This has been a challenging week... but I remain optimistic. Its hard not to be.

What did you use to publish this?
I thought long & hard before I got my first one. Prior to that, I didn't think I would either... that's not encouragement. Prior me to relates to that.
I bet there's a couple more people... tiny ones :)
Yikes! I maybe I'm seeing the calm before a storm.
