Inevitable, but we should try our very best to not have hard forks.
💥 BitcoinMints.com 💥
We just launched the first place to list and review Cashu mints leveraging #nostr as the discoverability and identity layer.
Cashu is an ecash protocol that will enable https://makeprisms.com users to send millions of #bitcoin payments with one click.
BitcoinMints.com is a Nostr client that uses NIP-87 to publish and review mints.

How do you know which mints are reliable custodians?
Reviews by friends already using the mint are a good place to start.

Leverage your web of trust and only choose mints recommended by your friends.
Tried adding mint.minibits.cash/Bitcoin but getting an error message, saying the mint was not found.
I think i fixed that issue, it was already added but the request was timing out
Looks like just self-hosted lnbits so far, but good point
Yes makes sense, I chose to test on VPS for better clearnet reliability & uptime, so this issue makes sense. My node is the funding source for this LNBits instance, but maybe cashu can't identify that somehow (since instance is not hosted on same hardware as pubkey)
I made a super quick sites page about the mint & contact information here: https://TinyUrl.com/thesupermint
Thank you very much for making a mint review & search nostr client. Very much needed indeed!
I think it's just not built into lnbits to return the pubkey... none of the lnbits mints I've seen do. It's the mint's pubkey not lightning node's pubkey
I just added one of my mints as a test. It says can't find the pubkey /endpoint, but it still added the mint. This is all for educational & testing purposes.
Best way to fix this?

Not sure the best way to fix it if it's an lnbits mint, this info endpoint should return a public key for the mint.

We still add the mint, but just point it out to try to get you to follow the spec.

Then only bank with reliable mints
Is there a point where cashu mints become trusted to point that people start talking about the difference between custodial and non custodial ecash?
Currently have some cashu tokens custodied in my browser.
Hey zappers, want an always-on non-custodial nostr:npub19hg5pj5qmd3teumh6ld7drfz49d65sw3n3d5jud8sgz27avkq5dqm7yv9p? nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm is great because it's reliable and always online, but custodial. nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg is great because non-custodial, but not always online.
Here's a CLN plugin nostr:npub1jg552aulj07skd6e7y2hu0vl5g8nl5jvfw8jhn6jpjk0vjd0waksvl6n8n that's great because it's always online, but requires you to manage a node... all tradeoffs
Still beta so use at your own risk, but would love some people to test it out. Happy to help you get it running 🫂

🚨 Make Money 🚨
Nostr enables one click, multi-party zaps and this allows for monetization of payment volume with no custodian for the first time ever. A user can simply pay the both recipient and app with one click. With NWC, two payments can be made simultaneously from the sending user’s wallet.
⚡ Try it now! ⚡ Developers can now use our API to set a revenue share on payments volume through their app. Discord server admins can now use the /admin command to set a revenue share on payments made in their server.
We believe this will become an important way for Nostr clients to generate sustainable revenue and our API allows any app developer to do the same.
Add the Discord Zap Bot: https://www.makeprisms.com/apps
Get API access: https://www.makeprisms.com/api
All you need to do is attach a lightning address and a fee rate to your API key. After that, all payments made will automatically split the specified percentage right to your wallet!

why would have you to pay on chain fees if using Cashu?
Trying to run https://sovereign-stack.org nostr:npub1j4z7qht2yntl6tw7f48cj92dtm7nfsa8jnjklshj5yvug42nvykqxlwuxp
Emphasis on trying

To send a user needs to be created with an NWC and to receive they need to have a lightning address for getting an invoice.
Users can also "receive" without a lightning address, and when they do add a lightning address all the pending payment requests will be sent out.
Also join the discord to try it out :D

More like a service to make non-custodial lightning payments simple.
Using the API abstracts away all the nostr + lightning involved in using nwc, and allows devs to use a familiar REST interface to say userA wants to pay userB 200 sats.
