Hey nostriches, I need your help with some advice.

After 2 years doing my best to counter bitcoin FUD pretty much full time I’ve run out of financial gas to keep doing this.

Wouldn’t be an issue except I have a family and I’m the sole income earner. CH4Capital will eventually pay me something, but at what point is uncertain. Infrastructure deployment on landfills takes a long time and we are still at the site identification stage. I’m fortunate that we do have investments in early stage tech companies that are going well - but no liquidity likely for 4-5 years.

My options seem to be

A. Sell some of our modest stack believing that’ll tide us over to when CH4Capital gets up and running

B. Get a real job - within the bitcoin ecosystem. I’m very grateful that there are a couple of options here.

C. Attempt to get my newsletter to a stage that it’s paying something decent (seems the least feasible option, as it currently turns over four figures p.a).

D. Something that’s staring me in the face but I’m too blind to see it.

Appreciate your thoughts on this.

Honestly not even mad at the person behind it. The fact they've announced themselves with a domain means less likely malicious intent. Anyway, it should be expected from the nature of the protocol, but that doesn't mean i should see it nor go through the tedious act of muting filterable accounts. Give users fine grained filter control.

Is it currently nostrich.house or are there more known bot farms?

Why Phoenix told everyone to use the drain wallet feature in the app and then pay 50% of the prevailing mempool rates to do so is just astoundingly ridiculous. We are talking $2-$3 to leave everyone trying to move wallets in limbo. Oh, also they have RBF disabled. Now I have to load in Sparrow, sync to my node, and create a cpfp transaction. Insanity.

Blocking is not the answer. Endorsing is.

Endorsing is OPT-IN. Blocking is FILTER-OUT.

Blocking catches good people in the filter and creates the same censorship issues as legacy platforms.

Endorsing requires someone on the inside to vet and allow a new person into the trust circle. Like a FB group, Reddit sub, etc. Endorsing is the key to solving spam.

I bought a synthesizer: the Arturia Microfreak

I've always loved music. I played trumpet for 12 years during school. I was in jazz band too.

I love electronic music but never learned about the tools of the trade. I played around in FL Studio but working in a DAW always feels so limiting. Lately, musical tools have gotten so powerful and relatively inexpensive and there is so much content on YouTube to help me learn that I feel like it will be easy for me to pick up an instrument like this and really use it.

I don't know what I'm going to make. I actually wanted a synth so I could make SFX for #ONOSENDAI. But I want to make music too.

There are so many people on YouTube who make silly minute-long off-the-cuff songs for fun and I'll get them stuck in my head for days. Creators like this have inspired me to simply create something and put it out there. It doesn't matter if it's perfect or not. Somebody will appreciate it.

It seems wrong that I've been away from music for so long. I'm excited to come back to it. #grownostr
