In this case it might not be an improvement. I really love the UX with scrambled PIN entered blindly on the PC like Trezor One (and 3 I guess) but I don't know if it's somehow less secure than PIN on device.

Otherwise I use a Specter DIY, definitely not the most user friendly experience for begginer bur super cool for advance user, the screen is like a smartphone screen, with plenty of space for fat fingers.

If they made one that look like this and had a touch screen to input PIN/unlock password, it will remove the largest flow in UX for this wallet. I hate to enter the password with this side touch bar, which take ages.

I did the enveloppe thing but with saving accounts (one for taxes, one for annual/semestrial bills + unexptected expense, one for holidays), however I have the feeling that I cannot fill them up as fast as they get depleted, and thus they often don't have enough to cover the unexpectes pass a certain (low) limit. Sometimes I use the tax resever if I know that I have time to the next bill and wait for end of the year extra salary anf bonus to fill up back.

But last year and this year I already had to sell some BTC to cover a gap.

With higher rent we will need a couple thousand more per year alone, so it will not get better. Time to fbd way to increase incomes.

Nobody knows but quick maths:

A decent house in my area cost today 1.5 millions (more or less in USD, I'm not in US), it was about 500'000USD 30 years ago, so it might be between 1.2 (Bitcoin works, people stop speculating on housing because Bitcoin become a better store of value and the cost increase just to reflect the demand for housing to actual live in) and 5 (housing market continue to go crazy and rise faster than inflation). So price could be between 1.65 and 7.5M, let's say 3MUSD as middle of the price range.

Inflation could go crazy but not as fast as Bitcoin. Let's say 5% per year.

If I manage to get 5% return of my invested money on top of inflation, I could retire with 2-3MUSD. So let's say with 6 MUSD I could retire in 30 years.

But I guess Bitcoin will rise much more than 10% per year on average, so it could reach 6MUSD or more by then even if it slow down after that, it will still be between just enough and very comfortable to live with 1BTC in 30 years.

And you, what do you think?
