I thought I was the only one!!! It only happens on amethyst though.
Idk that feels like bs. If you're super paranoid then you probably don't trust anything you aren't hosting yourself. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence IMO.
Another problem with external dependencies is they're very much a black box. Unless the dependency is well documented, at some point you may end up spending the same or more time reading code, understanding the dependency rather than just writing your own.
I'm trying to understand nostrdb and lmdb better in general. I think I have a good grasp of B+ tree and how they keys in the nodes/leaves are the primary index. But I saw that in nostrdb, there are additional fields of notes that are indexed. How does this work? #asknostr #dev
But also, these guys are blind to their own leader. Elon has bent the knee in Turkey and in India and has censored accounts there. And the likely reason is that it would affect sales of Tesla/Starlink in those jurisdictions. What a free speach hero...
Any insect specialists, entomologists or just bug boiz able to tell me what these are? Found under a leaf on a tree outside the second story window where I live. #asknostr
Unrelated: confluence is a bug.
100% agree with this. I would love a standard kind for recipes. Instructions and ingredients could be in tags or something.
I remember a controversial decision was to not cap the supply and instead do endless inflation (albeit on a known, fixedscheduled). Several years later, how do you feel about that decision? Also what is CoinSwap?
Damn really? Can you link it to me?
I have a vision for my ideal nostr client and maybe it'll resonate with you. I'd like a client that has dedicated, separate feeds for each relay I'm subscribed to. That way, adding a new relay feels like joining a community. I want a feature that Instagram used to have which is it will tell you when you've caught up on your feed. I liked this, I found it helped me timebox my usage of social media. I want it to have no discovery outside of the search. Finding new npubs to follow is more organic and word-of-mouth. It's way less efficient but it's a way to effortlessly restrain yourself from sinking hours into something that really should be a tool.
Is this possible to do in Canada? I worked for a company that provided ISP software and hardware to smaller ISPs but never bothered to learn the logistics of starting one.
I'm with you on that one. Until we get actual definitive proof, I'm a skeptic. I'm definitely hopeful we'll find something under the ice on Europa or something though.
A basic introduction to Schnorr Signatures in Bitcoin: https://learnmeabitcoin.com/technical/cryptography/elliptic-curve/schnorr/

Holy shit! This is a treasure trove! Why haven't I heard of this before! Amazing :)
Huh for once I'm advocating for the use of LLMs lol. Anyway, you could have an LLM go through notes and try to sort them by topic. It seems notes and topics have a many-to-many relationship. And you could have people maybe comment on a given note-topic relationship to explain how they accurate they feel it is? Or maybe, topics are things different users create that they can share with others. Each user can assign a note they feel belongs to a given topic and then when you search by topic, you get user submitted groupings of notes? Then another user could copy that grouping of notes, change the topic name if they like, add/remove notes to the grouping and then publish it again? Idk I'm just spit balling
Also the irony of claiming Elon has done more for freedom of speech than anyone else in the world when you're talking to the literal inventor of nostr is beyond hilarious
I'm sorry, what exactly did Elon do for freedom of speech? He's been complying with government take downs in India and other markets where he wants Tesla to be sold. What a free speech hero.
