My aunt has allergies, so she actually took a c0v|d test, and tested positive.

Some of my family live with her, and were like: "Oh no, we were exposed! Now we have to quarantine for 2 weeks!"

...in 2024.

Yes, there really are people who are still like this. Be careful out there!

In the late 1960s, my mother went to Woodstock since she knew a doctor and pretended to be a nurse in his medical tent.

In the early 1970s, she went to travel Europe as a backpacker for over a year. And then, she traveled to Morocco through Gibraltar, and Morocco had a coup. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1971_Moroccan_coup_attempt

So my mom got stuck there with little money and few exits. There was a government agent named Mohamed that courted her for a while and would pay her daily; he wanted to marry her and leave. She eventually managed to escape that situation, by befriending a Canadian pot dealer. He was chill, and gave her funds and said to pay him back once she gets home. So she stabilized and was able to get a flight home.

My mother and I are opposite personalities. She mostly didnโ€™t raise me; my father did. And yet in every picture, her right ear is visible but never her left. To this day, I get jokes online about never showing my left ear. Every picture. People say it might not exist.

Itโ€™s fun how that works. Maybe Iโ€™ll show my left ear only for Nostr.

I step away from Nostr for a couple hours, and a whole new meme has app๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟed.

Can anyone explain it to me? I'm all ears.

Fun story about how I won: My 17yo son was about to win with 14 bitcoin. I had 12 bitcoin, and my 15yo son had 10. I had a transaction ready, but had also used one of my miners to draw a card, so I had 2 options:

Option 1: Create a valid transaction in which I send 3 bitcoin to myself, and have a 100% chance of winning the final block reward of 1 bitcoin and take 2nd place with 13 bitcoin.

Option 2: Attempt to create a valid transaction in which my 15yo son would send me 3 bitcoin, and I would take the final block reward, but it had a 50% chance of succeeding, and a 50% chance that my son would defend it and get to move 3 bitcoin to cold storage, and I would get nothing (not even the block reward.

Me:

So I chose Option 2, and it worked! ๐ŸŽ‰

Anyway, cool game. You should get it. 10/10 will play again.

A few of my kids (ages 17, 15, and 10) and I played Hodl Up earlier today, and I can't recommend this game highly enough (and no, that's not just because I won ๐Ÿ˜†). This game has a great balance of luck and strategy, and plenty of Bitcoin references to kick off many discussions.

Get this for your family, meetup (that's what I did, but I couldn't resist play-testing it ๐Ÿ˜‰), classroom, or anything else, so everyone can learn about Bitcoin while having fun at the same time.

And if you don't wear a mask and get the jab, you're gonna kill grandma. ๐Ÿ™„

Whether it's masks and gene therapy on one side, or voting for Trump in order to keep Kamala out on the other side, they're both fear tactics to manipulate us. And I refuse to make a decision like this based on fear (I'm far from perfect with that, of course, but when I catch myself about to make a choice based on fear, I usually try to stop).

Maybe you're right, or maybe you're wrong. Maybe the deep state will make nukes fly even if Trump is elected. Maybe Kamala wins (God forbid), and other people in positions of power keep nukes from flying despite her efforts. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The point is that none of us know the future, but we do know the past and the present. And making definitive statements like "nukes will fly if Kamala wins," when we actually don't know, is exactly the kind of cultish behavior that Edward Snowden warned us about. So let's focus on what we ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ know, and let go of what we don't.

I'm working on the very first book about Nostr, "21 Questions: Nostr Edition", which is a follow-up to the book I completed earlier this year, "21 Questions: Bitcoin Edition" (https://a.co/d/5nv1GoK).

Like the Bitcoin Edition, the Nostr Edition will list 21 of the top questions that new Nostr users tend to ask, and each one will be answered by many of the greatest minds involved developing Nostr and spreading the purple pill. ๐ŸŸฃ

And that could also include ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ.

The first question/chapter in the book will simply be: "๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ก๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ?" How would ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ answer that?

Share your answer in the comments, and if I think it's good enough, I'll include it in the book, and attribute it to you, forever immortalizing you in the first-ever Nostr book.

Nico, I respect and appreciate you, but this is not the way.

Trump doesn't understand Bitcoin, and he's only saying what he's saying so he can get your vote.

RFKjr understands Bitcoin, but he's not on the ballot in enough states to win enough electoral college votes to become president. A vote for him is essentially the same thing as not voting at all...except that you're still bending over for the current system.

Even if Trump really grokked Bitcoin, or even if RFKjr could win, voting for one guy in a massively corrupt system filled with corrupt people who you will never vote for or see, is a waste of time at best. Bitcoin already realigns incentives and starves the money printing beast. Everything else (good leaders, good laws, etc) is naturally downstream of that, and if politicians want to fight against that, it'll only be to their detriment.

But, as nostr:npub1sn0wdenkukak0d9dfczzeacvhkrgz92ak56egt7vdgzn8pv2wfqqhrjdv9 said at the Nashville conference: go ahead and vote for whoever you want to vote for, but make sure you don't join a cult.

Be careful, Nico. You're flirting with cult territory.

https://nostrapps.com/ not just for iOS

Thanks. I'm mainly looking for something like spring.site for iOS, in which the user can import their nsec, and then the app keeps it encrypted and uses it to sign for you in many different apps embedded in the overarching app.

But still, thanks for this!

Then keep your eyes on nostr:npub15xd2mmjnh3caykh77djsv73e0zkrp42jp5mwerx8f4m6su40wdvss7t3l3. ๐Ÿ‘€ We're planning some very special things in this regard, something we're referring to a "social as a service."

Ah, never mind. It looks like it's an Amethyst-side thing, not a relay-side thing.

I made a lot of unintentional typos in that comment, but I left them alone so I could edit them and then compare it on Amethyst and Primal. On Amethyst it's fixed, but not on Primal.

You can on #Amethyst. ๐Ÿ’œ

I'm nkt an exoert on this, but I think it sends the update note as a new note to all the relays, and instructs them to display the new note in place of the original. As long as the relays cooperate (all good so far), the user's notes appear to be edited.

Is there a list somewhere of Nostr apps for iOS, or an app like Fedi (but not Fedi itself, since you can't import your nsec into it) or Spring, which gives you access to Nostr apps within it, but for iOS?

Yeah, that might be what's happening. In Mutiny, if you select the pending transaction, it'll show you a pop-up with all the transaction's information. Click on the link at the bottom next to "TXID", and it'll take you to where you can see your transaction in the mempool (be sure to scroll down and click on "see more details"). That way, you can verify where it is, and get a good idea how much longer it'll be until it's confirmed.
