I read that as ediable posters three times before I figured it out. 🤣
Apparently the person I referred didn't meet some unwritten criteria to get a verified account on #odysee, so now they can't post anything unless they buy #LBRY tokens. Seems like an arbitrary rejection. They said support didn't explain why they rejected the request either. 🫤
Pretty bad user experience and now I'm going to have trouble getting them onto any #decentealized platforms because they're lumping all these services in with this experience.
People lists has Followed, Muted, and mute. The forst two were empty and the third one seems to have been picked up as expected (28 accounts).
Active relays has 5 connected and 3 that are unable to connect. I entered all of these manually, which isn't a huge deal, but it would have been nice if they could have been imported somehow. I have more relays on Amethyst, so there's still an opportunity to try to pull more of 'em in, if that's possible.
Today I used a script to install LND. After that, I manually created a wallet with the command line tool, but I spend my time writing #documentation on the manual processes instead of forging ahead. I do not regret this.
I'm not sure if I'll have #lnd listen on the main interface or leave it on the loopback and have nginx proxy requests through. Nginx can deal with TLS cert renewals via certbot/LetsEncrypt extremely easily, so that's appealing.
It looks like LND is only beta quality software and can't handle more than just a simgle wallet. It's still useful, but I thought it was stable and could deal with multiple wallets, so this is a huge disappointment for me.
It's hard to get excited about going to the makerspace when it has fewer tools that are lower quality and less organized than what you have at home.
And sticking beginners with low quality gear seems cruel. It can be difficult to tell whether a poor solder joint is due to bad technique or bad equipment. I feel it's important to have good gear for people who are just starting out. Set them up for success. If they get into electronics and get low quality gear, THEN they can perfect their skill.
My local #Makerspace is in rough shape. I was a open hours on Thursday to prepare for the grand re-opening today (Saturday) and I discovered that both of our reflow machines don't blow any air, the #soldering irons barely get hot enough to melt solder, we don't have any standard (0.1") headers, it took us a while to even find tweezers, and we have far fewer #electronics things than we thought.
But I'm going to do my best with what we've got and show off the #3Dprinter & label the soldering irons.
Gossip connects, but it isn't following anyone. I'm using the latest release, not compiling my own (this time).
OK, I could use some help with either #Amethyst or #Gossip. I've imported my keys into Gossip, but my Followed list is empty.
How do I get that into Gossip? Do I need to export on Amethyst, or tell Amethyst to publish this info, or what?
It took me a while to curate that list of hundreds of accounts that I follow, and I'd be shocked if it were locked in a single client. That isn't the #nostr way.
Lookin' güt. Are those models and/or STLs freely available?
I take it you mean https://odysee.com/ ?
I hadn't heard of it before, but it looks pretty neat. The ToS says the tech is explained at Odysee.tech but that seems to be down.
ToS look reasonable. I was surprised to find a typo in section 5(b) and I hate all of section 15, but it's nothing I wouldn't agree to for a free service.
Thanks for the tip, Beave
I looked into getting an account on #Rumble so I could upload videos about the #signet and link to it from my online stores.
Sadly, Rumble prohibits posting any advertising of goods and services.
So I didn't have to read much of the Terms of Service (ToS) to realize they're not an option. I'm not going to violate a site's ToS and then rely on that site.
I'm trying to find another peertube instance because big tech companies like YouTube are at the very bottom of my list.
Does anyone know how to pronounce "feijoada"?
TIL: piri piri is a thing. And the translation is hilarious. #iykyk
Anyway, yeah, we're having bowls for dinner.

Update: No #Signet #Saturday this week, as my local #Makerspace is having their grand reopening and I'm going to be there showing people what the space has to offer.
There's a chance I might try to repair the one bad #build that I have while I'm there, but no #Qubes work. Maybe I'll be able to work the Qubes testing into my "spare time" 🤣.
Interesting work and having a say in how things go is the best communication. I'm glad to hear things are going well for ya. 🙂
Yeah, it sounds like there was some evidence that intermittent fasting has some short term benefits, so it's a bummer to see that the long term effects are a significant increase in something so severe.
Maybe future research will uncover some other correlation like most intermittant fasters were eating a keto diet, or a high carb diet, or not exercising or something else corralated with fasting that explains the outcomes.
For anyone who heard about the fad diet of "intermittent faating", you may be interested in the science highlighting the risks:
Followed. I'd like to hear what you have to say about marketing.
I can make cool, cryptographicaly secure hardware, no problem, but getting the word out about them is like this impossible task that requires some mysterious enchantment that I know little about!
I speak what's on my mind, but a lot of it happens to be about how to stay secure in the information age, open source/community driven software, and living in a more sustainable way(in every sense of the phrase). Some people would consider these a bunch of niche topics, but I see them as deeply connected.
To whomever made that page: Whatever is below "Login with extension or..." can not be seen because scrolling doesn't work.
I'm not sure how you managed to break scrolling on a webpage, but it's 100% repeatable using TorBrowser on Android.
The page also fails to load when using 12ft.io, CroxyProxy, ProxySite.com, and plainproxies.com.
It's almost as if the people behind Blossom are going out of their way to undermine people's privacy. Hopefully this is not the case and they'll fix it quickly and be transparentb about how this happened.
