Trump administration bungled covid response because they cut funding for public health the first time he was in office making Covid in the US far worse than it should have been:
US underprepared for coronavirus due to Trump cuts from 2017-2019, say health experts.
US preparedness to deal with the threat of coronavirus has been hampered by the personnel and budget cuts made by the Trump administration over the past three years, according to health experts.
There is no one in the White House tasked specifically to oversee a coordinated government-wide response in the event of a pandemic, since the post of senior director for global health security and biothreats on the national security council (NSC) was eliminated May 2019.
The office was established in 2016 under Obama after the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Africa demonstrated the US government was not set up to move with the speed and decisiveness necessary to react to a really lethal epidemic.
The White House global health “czar” was supposed to coordinate international, national, state and local organisations, public and private, to confront a global epidemic, backed by the direct authority of the president.
After he became national security adviser, John Bolton eliminated the office as part of an NSC reorganisation, as he did not see global health issues as a national security priority.

The first time Trump was president around 1 in 5 healthcare workers ended up leaving healthcare because of the way Trump and his people spread medical misinformation and made it generally more difficult for healthcare workers to work.
I expect even more people will leave now, which probably will be relevant everywhere except in major cities because there’s already a shortage of healthcare workers in non-major cities.
Also we can hope that there’s not another pandemic for Trump’s people to bungle the US response to again 🤞🏽
It’s as if people have forgotten the reason they’re living so much longer than Americans did 100 years ago is because of the current healthcare system based on science, public health policies, and medical evidence 🇺🇸

“So — all of Trump's picks to lead our nation's health agencies have either spread anti-vaccine disinformation, opposed lifesaving public health measures during the pandemic, or promoted false health claims and unproven products.”

“Remember during COVID when Dr. Oz said he's ok with 2-3% of American children dying so they can open schools”

"We need to go back to the good old days when everyone just ate natural, unprocessed food, there were no vaccines, and everyone died at 40"

Nearly 40% of young Americans 18-29 years old get their news from social media influencers. Many of the influencers lean to the right, a study from Pew Research Center finds. On Facebook, there were three times as many explicitly conservative news influencers (39% to 13%), and on Instagram conservatives outnumbered liberals, 30-25%.

“The same Republicans trying to put a man accused of child sex trafficking at the top of the DOJ and an anti-vaxxer atop HHS, are telling us that the reason they're banning drag queens, gender affirming care & books with two mommies is because they want to 'protect our kids.'”

In this randomized clinical trial, OBLS education significantly improved health care professionals’ knowledge, skills, and confidence in managing maternal cardiac arrest. These findings underscore the urgent need for implementation of a standardized maternal cardiac arrest curriculum nationwide, especially as the US continues to face high maternal mortality rates and cardiovascular disease is the #1 cause of death in pregnant women.
“Harris actually won/tied with every generation except
Gen X.
And notably, she still ran the strongest with 18-29.”

“President Biden racks up a huge win ahead of Donald Trump taking power by finalizing an agreement with a massive semiconductor manufacturer to invest billions of dollars in Arizona facilities.
And it gets even better...
The $6.6 billion grant agreement with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company was made possible through the historic Chips and Science Act, a piece of legislation that will end up as an enduring part of Biden's legacy.
"Today’s announcement is among the most critical milestones yet in the implementation of the bipartisan CHIPS & Science Act, and demonstrates how we are ensuring that the progress made to date will continue to unfold in the coming years, benefitting communities all across the country," said Biden.
The grant is predicted to create a staggering $65 billion in private investment from TSMC in Arizona, including three new facilities and tens of thousands of good jobs.
Donald Trump blames immigrants for our problems. President Biden works to actually fix them and strengthen our nation.
The downgrade from Trump and Biden is going to be felt in every corner of our economy.”

“RFK Jr. poses a serious and imminent threat to the health and well-being of our nation's children.
He is an anti-science conspiracy theorist.
We unequivocally condemn his nomination to Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services and will be using the full force of our organization to fight his appointment.”

“I’m 16. On Nov. 6 the Girls Cried, and the Boys Played Minecraft. We girls woke up to a country that would rather elect a man found liable for sexual abuse than a woman. Where the kind of man my mother instructs me to cross the street to avoid will be addressed as Mr. President. Where the body I haven’t fully grown into may no longer be under my control. The boys, it seemed to me, just woke up on a Wednesday.
What made my skin burn most wasn’t that over 75 million people voted for Donald Trump. It was that this election didn’t seem to measurably change anything for the boys around me, whether their parents supported Mr. Trump or not. Many of them didn’t seem to share our rage, our fear, our despair. We don’t even share the same future.”

Also Obama didn’t have to deal with the level of centralized social media algorithm manipulation to push misinformation to manipulate voters that’s being done now
