As an appsec engineer, at least it ensures I’ll have work for the foreseeable future 😅

I think we’ve massively over complicated the role of technology in our lives. It’s supposed to serve us, free up time, make life more free.

Instead, we’ve used it to replace IRL interaction, become dependent on it, and overall let it make us less capable.

I’m guilty of this 100%

Self driving cars will likely never be open source or done in a way where the user maintains control. They’re the literal opposite of freedom tech and if you cheerlead for them, you’re cheering for centralized control of human movement.

Screen time is bad

Blue light is bad

Algorithms are used to manipulate

Too much reliance on machines makes us less capable

Mental health is suffering because of social media

Surveillance tech is constantly monitoring us

Genetically engineered food is toxic

But yes, let’s merge with the machines. Brilliant idea, no bad consequences from this decision, right?

The number of transhumanists and tech worshipers in the bitcoin space is quite shocking

Heard a great theory the other day - the machines won’t replace humans because they’ve become more capable, it’s because they’ll have made humans themselves less capable.

What national security information could possibly be in there??

My motivation to do my fiat job is rapidly deteriorating. Have to figure out how to fix that.

Do you think it really went down that suddenly? Or were they just doing a terrible job of estimating in previous quarters?

Something I’m realizing lately - the average person in America spends so little time reading.

Even just reading blog posts on topics of interest, but especially not books.

Reading even 15 minutes daily is probably a huge competitive advantage. And almost no one does it.
