What if you suck, fundamentally, as a person? Do you show others that? Is the reflexive commentary of the public a corrective mechanism for your shiddyness?

I dunno. The border is what delineates my property from yours. Where my rights end and yours begin. I think that's pretty foundational to any organization, or individual. The voluntary nature predicating the border's establishment is what makes it just or unjust.

Regardless we do have the same goals. I am more a fan of slowly making the state obsolete over violent revolution. And in my estimation no sovereign control over the state's borders would bring a revolution very quickly. Bitcoin is the way to move incentives toward freedom and we are well on our way.🫔

Are those games THAT good? Also, anti-cheat is not anti-linux inherently the devs literally just have to ask the Anti-cheat company to allow linux support.

I agree with all sentiments here, but still have to shave off some edges. If all land is owned and ownership means excluding movement on your land, then how do you move anywhere off your land? Do we become prisoners of our property? Do we put tolls on every road?

I don't want tolls on every road. I also reject the concept of public property. If there must be public property, such as roads, then movement can't be controlled on it.

Take the border with Mexico, for example. If crossing the border is controlled, then the controller can decide one day that Americans can't leave. The same infrastructure works both ways. If I had perfect property rights, but couldn't move across that border, then selling my property and leaving is not an option, which is equivalent to having no property rights.

I want perfect property rights AND the freedom to leave. Compromising on either end effectively makes us prisoners.

But but bbbbbbut... !!! We have to control the immigration! No we don't. There are more options than what's presented. If we abolish minimum wages, then there would be no incentive to violate the law by hiring non citizens ; millions of Americans who can't get hired would get hired. Did you know American companies have billboards all over Latin America telling them to come here? That detail was conveniently left out of the narrative.

The above principle is why bitcoin is amazing. It upholds full property rights because its impossible to restrict its movement.

Again, the way to dismantle a structure is to take the pieces down from the top until you get to the foundation. If you pull the foundation, you have a violent destruction. Borders are the foundation of a country. The delineation of one place or another. You start with superfluous social concepts like socialized welfare, wage controls, and market regulation. Once everything is a voluntary socially, then by definition public land disappears and borders don't get abolished but privatized.

As far as: how wouldn't we be trapped on our own property? Natural cooperation. It is not economically feasible to own easement land (15 foot wide land strips between allotments) So, people will naturally sell these portions to the most economic actor available, a road maintainer. They would charge all interested parties for repair or liability in the case of intentional damage. Tolls are one option for high cost, large, multi-lane, highways but that's a cost users of a road would have to bear. (By the way, who will build the roads? Is a crazy rebuttal in 2025)

The appropriate order of the destruction of the state is hotly debated but no one with a coherent rationale has ever explained why if the collapse of the state isn't instant, that borders should be removed first. In the method of stopping a fight, you put down your weapons and negotiate before removing your armor.

What is freedom of movement? Is that not property rights? If you "move" onto my property, do I not have a right to bar your movement? If you are eluding to immigration. The problem is "public" land not the movement aspect. There is no such thing as public land. There is owned, and unowned land. By the very existence of public land, it creates conflicts of property rights in which there is no true owner. Property rights are the only rights that exist.

COMMUNITY NOTE: You are doing a great job. Keep it up.

nostr:npub1m50e65pv09ga73lglrkjgh5tlgj006pv9rce8xdg7rn5kps38gssh2glzq what the… are you for real? It is the first time I see an explanation this good.

Yeah, it's deconstructive speculation in evolutionary biology but, it's the best explanation I have found for the nasal mutations within geographic regions. There are sensory explanations as well but they don't seem to explain the evolutionary pressures that would depress the need for heightened olfactory sense in climates like those in Europe.

I mean, I just realized that on Amethyst I can have a dedicated feed of this community thread. How does one add to this particular community?

It depends on the client. Primal has a zaps section in settings including default amount. Amethyst you have to hold the zap icon and adjust the amounts. I'm sure damus has a similar settings tab.

Thanks for the correction. I didn't see the bright yellow button.

Hey new Nostr users that have jumped on Nostr thanks to nostr:npub1xr7t5h0l25ej73pm04zgz9afeexyzsjx67s5v0xxf2sshjn4sx6sep2gqh, I'd like to take a moment and blow your mind and show you the power of Nostr. You're probably using Damus or Primal right now. I want you to go and download an app called nostr:npub1yfg0d955c2jrj2080ew7pa4xrtj7x7s7umt28wh0zurwmxgpyj9shwv6vg or nostr:npub1v5ufyh4lkeslgxxcclg8f0hzazhaw7rsrhvfquxzm2fk64c72hps45n0v5 . You can get either of these on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. They're essentially Spotify but for Nostr. Once you have either one downloaded, you're going to want to "sign in" to this app with your private key or secret key from your Damus or your Primal. This is the long ugly looking string of characters that starts with NSEC. This is like your super secret password that you can never change, so you do want to keep it save and never share it. This key unlocks your identity. Now that you're signed into these apps, you can now comment on songs, boost them, share them, etc. and you'll see that activity in your Damus or Primal. Why? Because it's the same ecosystem and all of these apps work together. How fucking cool is that?

Why hasn't Wavlake or Fountain implemented nsecbunker sign in or even Amber signer. Why are we still copy/pasting Nsecs?

Keep your Nsec safe and private so that no one can post under your name. Use programs like Amber or an Nsec bunker to sign your notes and in general don't enter your Nsec into a Nostr client. (Damus, Amethyst, or Primal)

Please keep your Nsec safe and private so no one can post from your Npub. Use things like Amber to sign your notes or and Nsec bunker. Please research the Nostr protocol so you can keep your voice free!

You should always back up every key. So, in a 2 of 2 losing 2 keys and 2 backups is unlikely. 3 of 3 is unwieldy in general use but also with setups using CKBunker, or decay threshold N of N wallet setups are not as dangerous anymore.

Cool, I'm glad we all agree while somehow hearing "I don't want bitcoin to become digital gold" and I vehemently disagree because I don't see that as a preclusion of a currency layer like lightning, it is IMPLIED by the way money functions, which was what I was saying.

You can't literally say "I don't want bitcoin to behave like money" then imply that you want the proliferation of a currency backed by bitcoin thereby treating it like digital gold.

That is my contention.

Yeah, and dollars were directly tied to ounces of gold... AGAIN, I am not saying he wants to change the protocol, you implied that.

Lightning is a coupon system derived from UTXOs but they are not the same thing. It is also not a semantic difference either. It is fundamentally different because lightning bitcoin is created and destroyed with each channel open and close. It is also bound to the revocation rules applied to channel states. So, not some irrelevant difference.

Again, the implication is that he doesn't want Bitcoin to be digital gold. I didn't say pushing changes to the base layer, that was chris there. "Shoving liquidity and velocity onto the base layer" is not a change. It is using it in a manner in which it wasn't designed.

Not stolen, but certainly one party loses their claim to their side of the channel. The revocation secret sides the channel to the victim. Either you cheat, and your counterparty produces a valid revocation secret. Or the counterparty is offline and they lose their side of the channel, at least partially, absent a watchtower node.

I'm not angry. I like to be truthful and correct. I don't appreciate when others use falshoods or misinterpretations to make their point. I hope you are well too.

Glad I am just a novice using nano.

"Backed" is a term that everyone throws around. I don't understand how a money needs backing. For instance the properties of gold made it money, not some sort of trust consortium. Money is trusted the way gravity is trusted. It IS the thing. I guess having the knowledge of physical reality predisposes you to trust it but that's as close as you can get to a tautology without repeating words. Fiat needs trust precisely BECAUSE it doesn't comport with reality.

Technically it's implied fraud or just simply counterfeiting. Stealing means you don't have the thing anymore.

Cashu is a Layer 3 credit structure. I would just hope a robust Layer 2 becomes more prominent before we start piling financial instruments on top.

Just curious, does anyone have a dual node system? A watch-only and a signing node for channel states? Like, in the case someone doesn't want their private keys touching the internet through more than a single gRPC connection.

I asked Nostr about this with no response. I just wonder if people are aware that their keys are on the node that signs each transaction update and that MIGHT be an attack vector.

Valid point. At the moment, it’s Web of Trust via nostr:npub10r8xl2njyepcw2zwv3a6dyufj4e4ajx86hz6v4ehu4gnpupxxp7stjt2p8. The listing does read ā€œsource code not availableā€. 🧐

I saw an app named Obtainium that claims to let you ā€œget Android app updates straight from the sourceā€œ.

They both pull code from Git sources. Obtainium will say "Could not find a suitable release." This means the project has not pushed the build even if all the code is readable on Git.

You can read all the code but there's no way to know if that's what is on the downloaded build.
