Have a look into Tailscale. It's available in the Umbrel app store. Let's you create a VPN so your devices can talk to each other wherever they are.

Oh I think I accidentally found a workaround. Use Iris to add the ws:// URL to your relay list and click "Save relays publicly." The relay should now appear in Amethyst with the correct ws:// prefix.

I am running Amethyst and ws:// is working for me. 🤔

I had trouble connecting to my Umbrel relay with web clients. I think you're using Iris? The Iris Android app is just a wrapped web page. Native clients like Amethyst are able to connect without issue.

Relays would have to honour the ephemeral notes. I don't know how this could be enforced. It's a good problem to solve.
