Shitcoiner, I knew it.

Vitor is a rock star.

It's like a sick patient where effective medicine may not exist nor would the patient take it if it did.

Non-psyop is a psyop? Let's break it down. What should we do?

Short for psychological operation, a psyop is a secret campaign usually by a governmental organization to modify

public opinion through false news stories. While traditionally psyops were done by a single organization, today we it's done by pundits, on 4chan, and maybe even through bluechecks.

The vuln that's being exploited here has to do with independent verification. We can't verify most news personally and we're not yet good enough at seeking out independent verifiers to replace the ones who've disgraced themselves. We get part way there when folks like Doomberg describe their process.

It all comes down to efficiency, once we build up fresh networks of trust we can once again simply read the damn news. We start on solid footing by understanding the methods of verification. Elements of Journalism is a good book on this as is Doomberg's recent appearance on What Bitcoin Did.

Stay humble, stack sats, and learn to verify.

Nothing lasts forever. Even all the protons in the universe will decay after 100 billion years or so.

What's important is your experience. You can spend time on many endeavors, each with its own unique consequences. Bitcoin is beautiful in that once properly stored you don't have to worry about it.

If you want to enjoy your days, then you spend the most time with things that bring peace of mind, wisdom, and good health.

not everyone needs to climb the mountain

not everyone needs to confront their fears

not everyone has to endure torture to succeed

test yourself

in your own way

Yes, that was probably clearer in the past. Maybe it's necessary to go back to the very basics. By the way this is Brittanica's definition.

Twitter users are trapped. Trapped by the cloud, by the app on their device, by followers they can't migrate, and soon by revenue. Furthermore, Twitter users think they own their accounts when in fact each is the property of X Corp.

Nostr mimics the World Wide Web and the way it enabled innovation at the edges. By keeping the network simple, clients and various use cases can innovate in parallel and at speed.

With Nostr you choose the app. You choose the relays. You choose the form that your social media should take, whether money is involved and who knows about it.

No other social network gives the user the power that Nostr does.

Twitter is a trap. Nostr is freedom.

the changing or suppression or prohibition of speech or writing that is deemed subversive of the common good

Twitter users are trapped. Trapped by the account they use, by the app on their device, by content they posted, by follows, clout, and soon revenue. Furthermore, Twitter users think they own their accounts when in fact each is the property of X Corp.

As these traps become more evident, users will explore alternatives.

The first alternative they find may be in the fediverse. Mastodon, the closest thing to Twitter, boasts millions of users and a familiar sign-up process. ActivityPub, the dominant yet underspecified protocol of the fediverse, has been used to connect many other kinds of services.

Unfortunately the fediverse is fractured in a way that is non-obvious and intentional. Broad reach requires creating multiple accounts across many servers. Each of those accounts is tied to THAT specific server which is an important liability for a system where there's no guarantee of server longevity.

Rather than recreate the same problems but smaller Nostr is informed by the World Wide Web and how it enabled innovation at the edges. Relays by keeping it simple are enabling clients and various use cases to innovate in parallel and at speed.

You choose the app. You choose the relays. You choose the form that your social media should take, whether money is involved and who knows about it.

No other social network gives the user the level of power that Nostr does.

X users are trapped. Nostriches are free.

Good. Looking forward to trying out the git tools here.

They have a business to run and may be taking a page from Elon by blocking certain patterns in account bios. I appealed and they said it had something to do with my bio which has an npub and that I may have been involved in an effort by a 3rd party site to get people to sign up. I figure I'll let the account sit and find other ways to contribute that don't require GitHub.

Who's up for more FOSS management over Nostr?!

Some sites deny access to VPN users who are easy to detect since VPN servers tend to have well-known open ports.

When looking for a VPN service see if they support non-standard ports or separate servers for incoming and outgoing traffic.
