Wealth based systems are the future. #Bitcoin is the foundation for wealth based financial capital. Critical thinking is required. Bitcoin class of 2017.

I can certainly see the value of sending a zap to 'compensate' someone for screen space and time taken, but I really question whether doing that to random profiles. Something like that should absolutely be built into a search engine type app that operates on Nostr, which might be a specific feed where we type in what we are looking for and then have the ability to sort by zapped advertising so that when we click on a link to learn more it pays us a bit before we pay them if we choose to buy the product or service from them.

I've been seeing that being built, and it really makes me nervous. I have hated advertising my entire life. And I don't mean a wavy hand disregard, I mean an active HATRED towards the interruption of whatever I was watching or reading just because someone wants to shove content in my face that I don't want to see. If I'm actively looking for a product or service, advertising in search results is logical and welcome. Show me your stuff when I'm looking for it. But get in my screen with bells and whistles when I'm not looking for it, and that company has very likely lost a potential customer because I won't support that kind of interruption bullshit.

I love Nostr because it has no algorithms, no corporations and no advertising. I hope that doesn't change, at least not in the apps that I choose to use. If an app I use frequently changes to allow ads or corporate takeovers of screen space and my time, that app can burn in the fires of Muspelheim.

What we are seeing is the beginning of the collapse of the advertising model.

When TikTok threatened to shut down, 'influencers' were guests on tv news programs talking about how they made a living on social media using contracts with brands, advertising revenue and whatever schemes and tricks they could come up with to have money come in. Lying was on the table, cheating was necessary and encouraged, stealing other people's sponsorship deals was all part of the game. But actual work? Meh, that's so 20th century. I'm in chats on X where it's all the tricks and sneaky ways to get 'impressions' so they can trigger a bigger check from the monetization formula. I find it amusing to watch, but it's like watching an episode of Idiocracy.

Proof of Work means more than just the miners. It needs to be the core mantra of our civilization if it is going to thrive. People do want to work, and they want that work to be meaningful and appreciated. So when I see a post or a comment that shows that someone has done work that I appreciate, that's when the lightning bolt comes out. Even just 21 sats is meaningful today, regardless of how much that might be worth some day in the future.

Nostr and Zaps work on the Appreciation Model. We need to kick the advertising model into the trash can. Sooo fiat.

The administration is preparing to test a way to send an email to all federal employees at once.

There are approx 3 million people employed by the Federal government.

What happens when they start doing "Reply All"?

Talk about a stress test.

Oh, probably wrong to say I don't care, I just keep in mind that the US Dollar is not actually money. What we see as NGU is actually the entire Dollar system collapsing. I don't want anyone hurt, but I just want it done already.

Number Go Up is fiat thought patterns, though. I don't care about the exchange value with a zombie currency.

How exactly do you think that the Reserve would help balance the budget and pay down/off the debt? I've been reading the hopium for months, and I just don't see it.

I wish I could believe that Congress will actually do the work to balance the budget. If I'm wrong, that would be wonderful. But I no longer believe that they are capable of even understanding what it would mean.

I didn't realize there was a monthly fee for the relay service. I don't have the means right now to pay for that. someday soon I hope.

I saw it as Imperial Roman as well, because that's where the Fascists in Germany got it in the 1920's, or at least that's what they claimed at the time. There really isn't much historical evidence supporting the claim, it was just used in theater during the 19th century that were set in the old Roman Empire. So even then they got it wrong.

Zaps are the currency of Nostr, based on the appreciation model. If someone appreciates a post, they will zap it.

To fleece as much from the people as possible.
