I suppose there'd have to be supporting docs, along with Driver's license.. I've had to use copies of an electric bill, with my face, things like that. I keep coming back to the fact having the public/private keys opens up the ability for security. But you certainly have a point. Maybe a combination of a driver's license & your tax return, with the electric bill. Or, maybe I'm blowing smoke up my own rear end thinking about this. That could be it too!

If we get a bank run/collapse it will be interesting to see how fast they roll out CBDC's and go cashless.

That's the plan.. Get Normies scared so they won't think. They'll jump into the CBDC and before they know it, they'll be getting told how much they can eat and how much energy they can use. And if you don't follow along, they'll take down your account and/or take what they want in fines and tax. Your carbon footprint will be calculated.. Think of all those electronic cash registers, and bar codes on everything. So from that carbon footprint number will come your allotted money to spend, or carbon credits to use. So the $342B question is…does the US govt/Federal Reserve/FDIC bailout Silicon Valley Bank and its customers which include crypto companies, in which case they now have directly supported and bailed out crypto heading into what will be a tense election year, OR, do they let it collapse and teach other banks about counterparts risk and deal with contagion later?

Remember, they bailed out Bear Stearns so JPM could acquire them, but ultimately let Lehman fail. Which happens here? They’ve seen this movie and remember Powell comes from the private equity sector. He knows the game quite well and probably almost all the players. Oh to be a fly on the wall in that office!

There's a moral hazard to bailout out anyone. I would love to see the conservatives say 'no' to a bailout. Do they have the backbone? Someday, investors can't have the taxpayer bail them out. Caveat Emptor to the fullest.

I get that there is a human side to bank runs and no one wants individuals to get hurt financially, but how can anyone be for a bailout? Have we not learned anything from 2008? If one bank gets bailed out, why not the next? Why stop at banks, why not all industries? If the government comes in to socialize all losses, what's the difference from nationalizing that business to begin with?

These actions aren't free and aren't without consequence. For a lot of us, the bailouts and TARP were the very reason that we're here right now and to push all that aside and to advocate for those same actions again just doesn't make any sense to me.

Heck, your grandkids are on the hook to pay it back now. We literally borrow the paper in our wallets and pay interest to The FED for the privilege.
