You are confused. Or trolling, not sure which.
Hexadecimal strings are just numbers. Txids, npubs, nsecs, are all just hexadecimal strings, which are all just numbers.
You can get theoretically any number as a txid, or an nsec, or an npub. If you use a txid "as" an npub, you will not be able to work backwards to the nsec. If you use a txid as an nsec, that should work fine, but your nsec is pretty insecure so that's not recommended.
My understanding is that it's still draft but “pretty close” (works in CLN as you probably know...) But a NIP would presumably refer to the BOLT itself, not implementation details?
Nostr should probably support BOLT-12 as well. Might encourage LND to get it done.
Is there a NIP for it already #[2] #[3] ?
By the way all of this LNURL & LN address stuff could be improved/fixed if LND implemented BOLT-12. No need for the HTTP workarounds as the BOLT-11 requests and responses can travel directly over LN.
You need to run a separate process that will receive LNURL requests and pass them to your node for a BOLT-11 invoice. See here for a list of options: https://github.com/lnurl/luds#self-hosted
I dunno the “easiest”, they all have tradeoffs. I just use Zeus with my nodes, have not run lndhub or connected Blue to my node.
I just use Blue (custodial) for small amounts.
By default, Blue is custodian. Lndhub is their open source software which connects to a lightning node (LND) and provides a sort of account management feature for multiple users. You can use your own lndhub on your own node, but by default Blue uses their own lndhub on their node.
Relay has to implement the deletion NIP to support it. I assume most of them do, but that might be a bad assumption to rely on.
I don't recommend Muun simply because it's not a Lightning wallet. If you want self-custody Lightning, use Phoenix. If you want easy & cheap, use one of the custodial options (for smaller amounts). Muun doesn't seem to fill a niche, for me anyway.
Just keep zapping me and I'll let you know when it stops working.
My Bitcoin mnemonic is bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon bacon, but please keep it a secret 🤫
You can always RYON. (Run your own node.) But yes all of the popular ones that are very easy to use are centralized and custodial. Blue, Wallet of Satoshi, Alby, etc.
If you want self-custody but still easy to use, try Phoenix. No LN address for Phoenix, though.
My birthday is shared with 1 out of every 365.25 people.
I think they work fine as long as use is limited to followers or maybe 2nd/3rd degree followers. Useless for discovery/ global, yes.
Also it's NIP-19, NIP-05 is for the email-like identifiers. See: https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/19.md
No, because you don't have the corresponding nsec.
