The drunk ape hypothesis is my favorite theory of evolution

Deleted you know what from my phone today. Can’t take the endless scrolling of programmatically curated content anymore

And also to note, not customs. Just domestic security checkpoint

They were collecting photos pre-security at passport check when I traveled out of country recently as well. Not a practice I’d seen before. Claimed they’d be deleted after 1 week but clearly being used to train some model.

There are certain things that are simply bad and it seems like more and more people would prefer to couch that with pacified acceptance

Any good leaders goal should be to make themselves obsolete

Spring is undeniably the best season, don’t come at me with any other answer. Swear the air just has a sense of hope in it

The Montana state legislature voted to ban TikTok in the state. The bill would prevent a company from allowing people in Montana to download the app.

https://leg.mt.gov/bills/2023/billpdf/SB0419.pdf

The bill states that the reasoning is because 1) China is an adversary to the U.S. and 2) TikTok promotes harmful behavior and collects data on users.

It was sponsored by a Republican and mostly passed by Republicans. Most Democrats opposed it but were outvoted. It still needs to be signed by the governor, and it would be open to court challenges.

I don't like TikTok, but that's not a promising snapshot for where lawmakers are in terms of software control.

Data for me and not for thee!

Firmly believe that many of the societal issues we see today amongst modern Americans is due to a lack of physical hardship. We’ve become so incredibly comfortable/strapped to desks our brains are deprived of the sensation of physical accomplishment. Not healthy for mental well being at all.

It’s a literal chemical imbalance. I feel it vividly when I go through periods where I’m not exercising. Feels like night and day when I get back on the horse. So incredibly important to remain active and in good shape throughout life, wish this was emphasized more.
