as for the ones actually going to a church, way way in the minority. even in countries that are far more christian, and i've seen all of the varieties in eastern and southern europe. oh, so many shrines and whatnot but go visit the church to see how many actually show up for mass or anything. nearly none. the tax breaks they get are probably the only thing keeping them above water as far as maintaining the churches and halls.

super excited here at the island outpost... the internet installer technician is busy running a fat yellow optic fibre cable down the conduit from our floor to the basement switch currently, and soon there will be a fat router installed and gigabit ethernet connection to the internet available in all rooms of the apartment (including kitchen! ffs).
seems like the conduit down to the switch is a bit of a bitch though, hopefully he gets it put through soon and we have the cables all connected real soon.

well, i just want to say, there is now a desktop and CLI client version
it's not obvious how to do it, but i managed to hard-link the db from the desktop version to the profile for the cli version, and now i can have my chat in a CLI. i also need to find out how to launch it using the password given in an env variable, cos it's kinda sketch using a -k password parameter in the launch.

reminds me i need to make a soft link so i can use the original 'ed' command to launch my favourite terminal editor, 'micro' which is written in Go.
