Covid

Possibly given the loss of smell although the symptoms were quite different to last time I had covid.

Yeah there are a few things going around here. I’d managed to avoid it all winter despite being around family and work colleagues who were sick but it finally got me.. pretty much felt like shit all week last week but now it’s mainly just the annoyance of loss of smell..

I was pretty sick last week with a bad case of the flu (or some other flu like illness, I didn’t test to know what it actually was). I’ve mostly recovered now except that I have absolutely zero sense of smell.. Has anyone else experienced this before and how long did it take for the sense of smell to return? Any tips to speed the healing process? #asknostr

Tonight’s sunset. Nice night for a walk, still 26°C at 7:30pm.

Yeah there are definitely sharks around at times. I’ve been swimming not too far from there when the shark patrol helicopter has come along warning people to get out the water as a shark has been spotted..

Some Heltec T114 #meshtastic devices have an issue where sending messages > 50 characters will intermittently fail. Heltec have acknowledged that this is a hardware flaw with the devices and have recently announced a new revision of the hardware along with details of how existing owners of these devices can get a replacement:

Afternoon walk

Aurora Australis tonight

The last hellthread still keeps coming back every couple of weeks! Just add more people to that one.. 🤣🤣🤣

Sunday morning farmer’s market

Another long night last night (finished at 3:30am this time..) doing some further troubleshooting and putting in a workaround until the vendor figures out what is going on. I have a week off work now though so it’s someone else’s problem! nostr:note158cc3qhjyd0fq5t7xnm967qmdhgpswyyz6luulvrpzc2qdgj7cmqrk49eh

It depends on line of sight, and I’m not sure for the antenna with those Heltec kits, but we have nodes doing 20-30km with higher gain antennas here in South Australia.

Not strictly just ham radio but I did see this from WISPA (Association for Wireless ISPs) stating that they were reaching out to WISPs and ham operators in the area and providing support with recovery:
