I think there is also a place in the central market that sells them but I’m not sure if theirs are locally grown.

Choice Mushrooms at the Adelaide farmer’s market this morning. They generally have quite a few different varieties of oyster mushrooms, lions mane, chestnuts and sometimes shiitake.

Fresh shiitake mushrooms, garlic, a little bit of wine and cream makes a tasty simple sauce for steak. 🥩🍄‍🟫 #proofofsteak #foodstr

It’s hard to say. I know one of the nodes I’ve deployed can directly see another node about 30km away but that is with a 5dBi antenna and is positioned on the side of a hill overlooking the city so had good line of sight. With a 2dBi antenna on a portable node I’ve been able to get approx 10km with reasonable line of sight.

I’ve noticed this drop off in engagement over time myself too. Partly I probably haven’t been posting anything very interesting recently and I know I haven’t been engaging myself as much as I used to (in part due to time with a lot going on at work etc). I’ve recently deleted X from my phone and removed myself from some Telegram groups etc that were distractions and not making me happy anyway so I think I’ll try to focus more on Nostr again!

The main thing to be aware of with any of them is ordering the version with the correct frequency for the region you are using it in. Here in Australia and I think in the U.S. it is 915Mhz, I believe Europe uses 868Mhz.

Depends a little bit on what features you want. I personally like the RAK Wireless gear as it is very flexible and is very power efficient:

I also think the Likygo T-Beam is a good starting option as it is pretty much ready to go - just add a battery and buy or 3d print a case for it:

Growing rapidly here too. I can now see 100 nodes from my node at home. When I started playing with it a few months ago I couldn’t see any others. #meshtastic nostr:note1lf5vssx9rfxfvps5csjs3clr8meynqmy50w5nty72regvmvdy5aqlrm9a5

Yeah the numbers on that meshmap are quite low. I’ve found this one shows a lot more of the nodes near me:

Time lapses are definitely interesting to watch! That’s a cool sequence of photos too!

I think there are some good olive oils made here in Australia. I’ve recently been buying a locally produced one that is made from olives collected from wild trees and relinquished groves (in areas that are free from pesticides etc). They make a couple of batches at different times in the season which each have fairly distinct flavours.

It’s quite interesting seeing mushrooms grow. I’ve grown some from growing kits in the past and some types grow really quickly.

Saturday afternoon walk

The weather hasn’t been too good here the last couple of days but hopefully a bit better today.

Lol, I think I need to find some of these npubs to follow posting funny shit! I could do with some of that, I’ve been too much on the stressed and irritated side myself recently.. GN 🫂

I think a lot of “average” families here in Australia are already priced out. Many are living week to week to just try and pay their mortgage and deal with all the other cost of living issues.
