I agree, I think that the “average” user shouldn’t need to give much thought to relays at all but client should still have the option for users that want to set specific relays.

I was thinking that perhaps clients can further auto optimise their default set of relays based on the relays that the npubs you are following are publishing to but I don’t know how well this would work in practice.

It’s more that I just don’t drink much anymore in general. I do like a stout once in a while!

Chilli chocolate stout. I don’t drink much beer but this wasn’t too bad. Quite a strong kick from the chilli though. #beerstr

I think it is easier to pick up when you are around Spanish speakers. I’m not around anyone speaking Spanish now but I was exposed to a lot of Spanish when I was a child as my father was from Spain which I think has helped as I already knew a lot of words and Spanish pronunciation. I didn’t know about the Duolingo podcasts, I’ll have to check them out!

I reached 1 year of learning Spanish with Duolingo yesterday. While I don't think Duolingo is the perfect way to learn a language, I have definitely made some good progress. I'm now at the point where I can read some things in Spanish and often get a general understanding, although there are still a lot of words I don't know. Responding in Spanish is harder. I wouldn't be able to have an in depth conversation but I know enough that would be useful for travelling (asking for directions, shopping, ordering food etc).

What I found has worked for me is doing an average of 5-6 lessons per day (about 15-20 minutes). Less than that and I felt I wasn't making much progress, more and it is sometimes hard to take everything in.

The most important things though, which apply generally to achieving most things in life, are persistence and consistency.

Vegemite can actually taste pretty good in a gravy or sauce!

Never, but now that you mention it, it could be a fun thing to be able to do.😂

There is the Japan-Guam-Australia South (JGA-S) cable that looks like it has a landing point on the Sunshine Coast. As far as I can find that one has been in service since 2020 but not sure if there is another on that is being built as well. Submarine cables do take many years of planning and building before they are ready to be used.

Looks like it worked for me (from my node).
