It has probably been replaced with 'ip' so you can probably disable the interface with;
ip link set [NIC_NAME] down
(e.g. 'ip link set enp0s3 down')

I haven't seen the 2000 sats; is there a delay in when you send out the sats after announcement? Other people have successfully sent me sats in the past, so that *shouldn't have* to be the issue 🤔
If it is a flatpak you can probably restrict the network access of that app 🤔
