At #Nostr for upcoming #Zapathon :

If You really want to know what's going on in gobal politics and macro economics, this is imo a really good interview about these topics:
Good morning fellow #Nostriches
For those that have to work at the fiat mines today, here are some labor vitamines π
Advice is like mushrooms. The wrong kind can prove fatal. π

Coq au vin (chicken in wine)
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 chicken thighs
- 4 chicken legs
- 500 ml full-bodied red wine
- 380 ml poultry fondant
- 1 red onion
- 250 grams chestnut mushrooms
- 125 grams smoked bacon strips
- 6 shallots
- 375 grams of winter carrots (approx. 3 pieces)
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 teaspoons light brown caster sugar
- 2 sprigs of thyme (fresh)
- 2 bay leaves (dried)
- 2 tablespoons parsley (fresh - finely chopped)
- butter
- black pepper and salt
PREPARATION METHOD:
- Peel and cut the carrots into slices.
- Chop the red onion and finely chop the garlic.
- Chop 3 shallots and the other 3 will only be stripped of their skin.
- Clean the mushrooms and halve them (cut large mushrooms into quarters)
- Fry the bacon strips in a large pan without adding extra fat. (Make sure you have a large pan because we are going to make the entire recipe for coq au vin and all the ingredients have to fit in it.
- When the bacon strips have been fried, scoop them out of the pan and place them on some paper towels.
-Now add 2 tablespoons of butter to the fat of the bacon strips.
- Sprinkle the chicken legs with freshly ground pepper & sea salt and fry them a few minutes until golden brown in the butter and the fat of the bacon.
- Repeat this with chicken thighs and add the peeled shallots, bake briefly
- Then scoop the chicken and shallots out of the pan and set them aside for a while
- Now add the chopped onion, garlic and carrot in the pan to the cooking fat and fry them until the scents are released and the onion starts to become glassy
- Then add 3 tablespoons of flour and fry it over low heat
- Add the red wine little by little until a slightly bound sauce is formed.
- Then add the poultry fondant together with the bay leaf, thyme, caster sugar, freshly ground pepper and sea salt
- Bring this to a boil and then add the chicken. - Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer gently for about 60 minutes
- After 60 minutes remove the thyme & bay leaf from the pan
- Now take a separate frying pan and heat 2 tablespoons of butter in it
- Fry the mushrooms over medium heat for a few minutes. Remove the mushrooms from the pan and add them to the chicken
- The bacon and whole shallots now also go with the coq au vin and let it simmer gently for a few more minutes
- Season the coq au Vin with freshly ground pepper and sea salt.
- Sprinkle with some freshly cut parsley
- Enjoy your meal!

Time for some nice homemade chicken in wine sauce βΊοΈ

Tails
Yes they are in LND, often used for paying routing fees.
Off course when closing a channel, the settlement on chain is only done by whole sats.
Interesting title π
My point is, as I wrote in my original post, that it's only used as a moneygrab. By giving those sats back to the participants, they have an option to disprove my argument. π
Them is who that have posted these kind of polls.
It might be well intended, but clearly the current way isn't working.
Some will make the argument of developing new features and testing it.
Ok, it's tested this way, it isn't working, remove the function and send everyone, that spent sats on these polls, their sats back. They can find them at their notification button.
I'm challenging them to do this.
Why current polls on #Nostr are just moneygrabs:
Recently, the function of making a poll got added on Nostr.
To vote in a poll one has to #zap sats on a certain option to participate and only those that did that will see the results. The results are that the poll option that received the most sats get to be the highest ranked answer.
If someone desires a certain outcome, the only thing that person has to do is zap a relative high amount of sats to one answer of the poll and there it determines the outcome.
So, the data generated by those polls is spurrious, it says nothing about the public opinion as it is easely manipulated.
That leaves the question of what the goal really is to post such a poll and why they exist in this way in the first place?
The person that posts such a poll will receive all the sats that are zapped within that poll. And there is their incentive to post such a poll, they don't care about the outcome, they just want your #Bitcoin . Or in other words, a moneygrab.
Where is the world do You have a poll where You have to pay to participate? Usually people either participate for free in polls or they even get conpensation for the effort to participate. Would those people that post current polls on Nostr be still posting them if it would cost them sats? Off course not!
You all know who they are;
Save your sats, they're rare and will become more valuable over time! π
Thanks for that zap on my reply to Primo, Sir. Much appreciated! π
Maybe they're saving sats to participate in one of those zap-only polls.
