Was awesome - thanks man!
We had a record breaking nest for us (154 listeners) today. Thank you nostr:npub1s05p3ha7en49dv8429tkk07nnfa9pcwczkf5x5qrdraqshxdje9sq6eyhe for joining us for our 21st episode and sharing your wisdom - nostr:npub1tvqc82mv8cezhax5r34n4muc2c4pgjz8kaye2smj032nngg52clq0rkrq4 and I are truly appreciative 🙏
Big thanks also to our dear friends at nostr:npub19mduaf5569jx9xz555jcx3v06mvktvtpu0zgk47n4lcpjsz43zzqhj6vzk for keeping the audience abreast of the news of the week in our Lightning Round
Recording will post shortly
Enjoyed it immensely, and love seeing decentralized alternatives get traction!
#[1] you’re the anti-dev. What you touch un-develops. Lol
...."All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
We're still re-reading the stuff you've already written. That's the reward for writing stuff that stands the test of time. Keep producing lindy, no matter the pace. Appreciate you!

"You don't need abs, but rather an attitude of training. You don't need the answer, but rather an attitude of curiosity. You don't need an easier life, but rather an attitude of perseverance.
Attitude precedes outcome." - James Clear

Well, we appreciate the sacrifice. 😄
Sentiment and spending headed south in 3.....2.....1.....
Was fun to listen to! Appreciated the real talk about life on the road.
"The wise know there are no perfect solutions, only tradeoffs." Yes, this is my exact point. Proper layered design + best tradeoff mix + what market chooses becomes default protocol.
"Monero has the largest network effect for privacy coins". Great - shows privacy is desired by some people. Privacy is a feature/function, and time will tell where people looking for privacy will go ultimately. Which tradeoffs were best, etc?
I probabilistically believe that BTC will be the L1 that gains the most from it's layered design choice, but the whole thing is an emergent ecosystem, and value will accrue in lots of places. Best wishes to you!
And yet almost the whole world is connected via the base layer of Internet protocol, and you can have 100% privacy on tools like SimpleX, which operate on a higher layer, built a few layers up from TCP/IP. An example of how those wanting to optimize for privacy were able to do that over time, and the base layer does it's base job well.
Could there have been better designs? Sure! But Monero will likely lose users over time, because they chose in their design approach to do more on L1. Network effect on L1 of BTC + additional layers/improvements bringing privacy.
Can't like this post enough. Keep going, we're loving it!

lol here we go again. I'm down.
Yes, your contact list (list of npubs you follow) is an event type itself, so would need to be signed. Each individual follow is just an update to that list/event, that then gets relayed out so other clients replicate the list, I believe. NIP-02 defined this: https://github.com/nostr-protocol/nips/blob/master/02.md
I understand that you need to put some of this in your pocket to participate in today's meme #pocketsteak
I think we are keeping it simple tbh; only the innovations that are the most valuable will be proliferated across the clients competing for us to use them.
The end result are features that "just work". Nostr is one of the simplest protocols in its essence. The more we want to do with it (like having note quoting be standardized across clients) the more coordination needed.
Simple feature request -> complex coordination & vetting -> simple end features we love.
FYI, You can also write long written articles/blog posts at the nostr client https://habla.news/ and will show up as nostr post on many clients like damus now.
Yes, this is awesome. Good replication of medium. Subcriptions a coming feature? :)
A reaction + zap should be called a Love Zap on here.
Such a good listen. Speaks to the reasons we don’t cram everything we could possibly do on Layer 1 of a protocol stack.
AA and nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev 's killer rant for the win.
Also got paid 4 sats per minute to listen to this, which I can immediately spend with nostr:npub1f5pre6wl6ad87vr4hr5wppqq30sh58m4p33mthnjreh03qadcajs7gwt3z for 1 single #garlic bulb. #garlicstr
What’s an idea you’ve been thinking about constantly?
Could be big or small, but something your mind keeps returning to.
I know this rhythm so well, and I think it’s part of what makes for a life well-lived. Deep effort on meaningful work and periods of reflection/play is an ebb and flow that has moved humanity forward for all of human history!
