Has anybody ever used #Anki , the flashcard programme for learning things ? I've heard it is quite good.

Typically no, but in trying to keep close to the specs I was working from (lists and long form content) this was a good compromise.

The tags section of a list makes up the whole list. There there is nothing in there that states what belongs or doesn't belong to the list.

I thought about some sort of "list spec" as an element of the tags section:

Just doesn't seem fun to deal with. Stringified json is how nostr profile metadata works. Its not the most efficient but its a tradeoff because you're not iterating through every tag and checking a number of conditions to display - for every user.

Then seeing nip-01 and finding an equivalency between ideas:

kind1: text note, simple, just renders text. All the functionality needed for just a paragraph section, but being an article it could benefit from markdown as another rule. Thats how kind 30041 relates to kind 1, the base case for a section of text.

Kind 0 : Profile metadata - you click on the "title card" of a user's profile and then you're taken to a page where all their kind1s are dropped down like an accordian of index cards underneath the profile metadata. That's why 30040 is the article equivalent to kind 0 - gives bounds for rendering one layer and also provides surrounding context.

The article header should be described within the event tags. A stringified content is awkward.

It would just need the ability to show 30023, 30024, 30040 and 30041 events. And maybe allow for highlighting/quoting/replying to those notes and some nice book and article navigation, and publishing 30023s and 30040s (including their linked/embedded notes) as ePub or PDF.

So, if someone writes a 30040 with the metadata "title: Anne of Green Gables, author: L.M. Montgomery" and then listed 30023s and/or 30041s as content, the script would just use the 30040 as the index page required for the ePub and pull in the content of the linked articles.

We're already publishing books under the new events, so anyone who build a client for it would have immediate, high-quality content and grateful users.

Anyone can help, beginning immediately.

Simply publish individual chapters of your favorite books as long-form/articles (using something like Habla.news or Highlighter.com or Yakihonne). Just make sure to have the title contain the name of the book, so that you can easily find them all later, to tie them together with a header note. The header is just general information about the book (author, title, etc.) and a list of notes/chapters in the reading order.

Make the title something like "Anne of Green Gables: Ch 1" or whatnot. If the file is too big to process (I don't know what some relays have as limits), then it would just need to be Ch 1.1 Ch 1.2 and etc.

And make sure to add wss:://thecitadel.nostr1.com to the relay list, in whichever app you use.

I've been learning japanese for a whole month now and I plan to continue doing so until it's on par with my spanish skills. This means a level where I can understand most things and can continue to improve by just immersing if I decide to do so.

Right now I..

- can read hiragana

- can read katakana

- learned the meaning of 589 of the ~2100 jōyō kanji. At my current pace I should finish my Anki deck by Sep 4

- learned 779 words of my 6k Anki deck which I should finish by March 3

My noobie gains are still very noticeable. The new words I learned in the morning often show up later during my immersion session.

It's been very enjoyable so far.

The NIP-65 note is an addition to the Nostr protocol. Relays have to propagate it constantly, or else it’s useless. That’s radically different than original Nostr.
