Iāve seen so many people say they wonāt use Nostr because we donāt support delete. This is really frustrating, because Nostr DOES support delete, itās right there in the NIPās! Weāve got delete in nostr:npub1pu3vqm4vzqpxsnhuc684dp2qaq6z69sf65yte4p39spcucv5lzmqswtfch, but most apps donāt expose the functionality to users because they either donāt like the idea of delete or canāt be sure that something is 100% deleted. That misses the point, delete is as much about social signaling as it is about getting rid of the content.

It's not that we don't support delete, its that we support accountability.

So, whilst we know from the Facebook Cambridge Analytica scandal what does actually happen, the fact is there is still zero evidence about microphones being used to listen to all conversations. We'd like to believe it, so the myth does not get stopped. I also fell for this when it was "factually" stated that the advertiser had said it was happening and the webpage was then changed. But it seems now that the webpage never said that at all in the first place.
This sort of thing just makes people more paranoid for no reason. It's why I always like to have any dissent backed up with some concrete report or evidence. IT is too easy to troll and disagree without reason, but such an argument has zero weight at all.

I stand by the opinion that many bitcoin companies and educators are missing out on the marketing that is Direct Mail.
Yes actual paper mail that is targeted to specific demographics.
As an account manager who handles mailing accounts for financial advisors across the country I've seen the millions of dollars that get moved into different financial assets, wills & trusts etc. If the mail didn't work they wouldn't keep doing it.
With companies now offering #bitcoin versions of traditional financial instruments it would not be a far stretch to host seminars explaining "What Bitcoin can do for you"
It all depends on how these companies can make money from the transition. Want to increase awareness and adoption this is my idea.
