I guess I include apps like Nos as an example of hiding the micropayments feature of the protocol by not implementing it so YES we need more nostr clients that don’t implement micropayments ✨ decouple bitcoin from Nostr to get more users.

You not wrong, I just don’t lie to myself in thinking that the majority of folks are thinking about money in those ways right now. I usually explain nostr as seizing the means of communication over cable from corporate monopolies (+ the gov) and that seems to click more for people than the bitcoin integration. Nostr is the underdog here as the only truly grassroots social protocol that provides the most freedom for users.
I got some that won’t touch it because they think nostr = blockchain and if you get anywhere near bitcoin you become an evil ultra right wing libertarian anarcho capitalist.
Even if they are currently on twitter, which has supported bitcoin payments for years now, they can’t break the association with bitcoin because of nostr’s marketing. I been saying someone needs to take off the blockchain hashtags from the Nostr World YouTube channel videos for this reason. Nostr is not bitcoin, there are just a bunch of bitcoiners in here currently lol
