Just caught the last couple minutes. Glad I missed it.
GM frens!!

Hope those that made it to Miami are taking care of each other. Enjoy! Living vicariously through you.
🤯 As if I didn’t already thing the world in 2yr would be vastly different. I don’t think I’ve fully comprehended the exponential nature.
What the what? Is that supposed to mimic a sleepy state or would that be the beginnings of a subjective experience?
Had an email exchange like this many years ago. “Unfortunately I won’t be able to rack your laptop in the data center.” That thread sorta went as you’d expect.
I’m sorry. The fibromyalgia sounds debilitating. This Huberman lab ep. is my current understanding. I’m sure you’ve investigated far more than I can fathom. But I’d be remiss not to pass it along. It’s a riveting episode but 59 minutes in he discusses fibromyalgia in-depth, and several promising treatments (which you may already be familiar with). It sounds that they’ve isolated some areas associated in the glia toll4 receptor. I hope you find something useful from this or find a another path to relief. 🫂
Please forgive me if this was too forward.
It’s just the storage box for the Fed. We just need some packing peanuts.
Whether it be deletions, blocks, or encryption people should be informed that once information is out, there is no guarantee. Mechanisms to stop duplication can give a false sense of security for the uninformed… if they’re not informed.
I do like the idea of the sender being able to tag something that is “intended to be confidential”. And I’d likely choose a client that enforced this automatically.
Deletion requests are great too, but should be labeled in some way as “requests”. No guarantee.
If it’s decentralized we must expect a market to arise for surveillance and marketing. I’m not saying we shouldn’t have tools to thwart this, but we should lead with education & personal responsibility.
Ouch on point two. Possibly where I’m screwing up. 😏 Coffee after 5pm is a bit of a problem over here. I need to go back and listen to the Ep. Also the whole Dr. Attia series.
I agree we need real private messages and groups.
I’ve looked at lots of ways to do this and I believe this is most promising.
https://p2panda.org/specification/encryption
We’ll need to figure out how for clients to store a set of keys for the groups they’re in. We can do it by encrypting a key collection in an event for the client itself.
MLS is a pretty well thought out of way of doing encrypted groups. In particular p2panda has found a way to do it in a decentralized architecture where the servers simply are dumb data stores like exists with nostr.
From the notes:
Private groups with Sender Ratchet Secrets
Ephemeral AEAD secrets, derived from MLS Secret Tree of current group epoch, used on a per-message base, gives Forward Secrecy (FS) and Post-Compromise Security (PCS).
Advantages:
* Provides strong security for any size of group, even very large groups
* Every message is encrypted with an individual key, attackers will not be able to read past data or future data when a key got compromised
Disadvantages:
* Members joining a group later will not be able to decrypt past data
* Clients have to store decrypted messages somewhere on their end as keys get useless soon
🔥 Now I feel like I’ll sleep well. Pretty remarkable environment. Nostr is a whole other Wittgensteinian language-game. 🤯
You all are amazing!
😊 Much earned I’m sure. Enjoy good sir and g’night
G’night extra late crowd and early risers. I need to nap. Thanks for the company during work. #nostrafterdark
😴
Yah. If it weren’t for hamster wheel stress I’d imagine I’d have this down. The sunrise/sunset light frequencies play a huge part if your schedules lets you work around the sun.
More about caffeine. I think this was the episode.
It’s really tough with Huberman Lab because the material is so dense. Without confidence I’ll say that caffeine is a an adenosine antagonist. We have reserves of adenosine leftover after a night’s rest. According to the studies he cited you should allow 90ish minutes for your adenosine stores to be depleted before ingesting caffein after waking up. This also avoids the midday crash.
