5 is plenty, if you're using the right 5.
1. a blastr relay like wss://nostr.mutinywallet.com
write only, but publishes to dozens of the top relays.
2. an aggregator - nostr.band, nostr.lol, others
read many many relays with one connection
3. DM considerations. I don't get DMs from some folks unless I'm using the exact same relay. The aggregators don't seem to do those.
Dance your cares away.
are you using WoS? I think the issue may be WoS, and they're working on it.
Iris.to is superior
gotta count all those armies and battleships
Frozen steaks cook up great in Soux Vide.
Cholesterol is an essential part of your metabolism. Your body creates it much more than you eat it, typically.
It creates it when it needs more of it and it needs more of it when you're in 'fat storage' mode. If you eat alot of butter AND you're eating cakes all day and keeping your blood sugar maxxed out like most of the people in the studies you would reference for this belief, then yes, I suppose eating all that butter isn't great.
But thats an industry trick, long since having captured these regulators and advisory bodies, to remove focus from the real problem. Such a large amount of Americans are completely addicted to carbs, cheap enough for all, and keeping their blood sugar maxxed out their whole life.
I suspect spam on global made it difficult to just passively lurk. Lurking is a big part of the social media experience. You don't want to speak until you know who you're speaking to.
If Iris didn't have a good client side way to filter spam, and participate in any/all relays openly, but with a decent global, I wouldn't have gotten as hooked. Other clients seem to focus on Followers only as the experience, or paid relays as a solution, and those fail the user, in delivering a social experience.
There's far more messages than users and each user would only be working on one hash for each relay at a time, so I think it's within the same order of magnitude of storage space required as running a relay and storing a constant 1 additional bit of text for each user.
Yeah, I had said last year, the Fed has so much ammo, so many powers, so many levers, it's hard to believe they won't manage a soft landing.
They also have the huge repo facility and then the soverign shadow debt facility they don't even report.
However, they're not really using their powers. They're afraid too, unlike say Japan. They need to sell their treasuries and MBS of certain dates to target the yield curve so it isn't inverted. They could do so much more to make the numbers work out like they want, because all these numbers are fugazi, but they're afraid to be seen doing anything. They fear for the longevity of these powers if they were to openly wield them.
search it on nostr.band
Contact list events, included
Iris also only loads the events from users within your degrees of follows (those you follow, and their follows, etc.)
Weird that this is a reply but I agree. People who don't understand history and great power struggle and anarchy, apart from Bitcoin/economics, don't like that violence is an unavoidable reality of the environment. It works and people don't like facing inconvenient truths. Even if Bitcoin wins, we have physical bodies and there are dangers lurking in the bushes.
I'd expect this to be a relay thing. Spam is mostly an issue for decentralization due to the demand it places on relays (public ones anyway)
#[6] was talking about PoW being required until account level reputation is achieved, so this kinda goes well with that. I like it.
