We've been ATVing around Wyoming and went to check out a quarry where the kitchen counter and front steps of my parent's ranch were quarried. We saw these petrified trees in the rock.

We've been spending the last 2 days riding ATVs and enjoying the Wyoming countryside.

Start9 has two services that can help with replacing google docs that are available now. Cryptpad (focused more on collaboration) and NextCloud a broader office suite replacement. You should look at both and see what works best for you. https://marketplace.start9.com/marketplace The ability to backup oneStart9 server to another has not been released yet. The other feature not released yet is the ability to access your server remotely without using TOR. That makes it harder for you to share access to your server with folks who are less technical. #start9 #grownostr #cryptpad #nextcloud
At work we have a bunch of logs on google docs. We need multiple people to be able to see and edit the spreadsheets. I really hate using google docs, but it works better than anything else I have found. Will both allow this or only one. We also use google docs to share forms that we use, but we don't necessarily need to edit it in the app.
I went to try again so I could see the error message, and it opened up, so it seems to work now. I don't know what was happening the one day it failed repeatedly. Thanks for the offer. Now I just need to link a wallet to my amethyst. Is Wallet of Satoshi the best choice?

Start9 nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll is looking to provide their exceptional education and support services to the next wave of sovereign individuals.
In classic Start9 fashion they are taking the time to do it right.
If you've been using Start9 and want to help others this is a great way to get paid to do so.
If you haven't been using Start9 yet, why not?
I've been using Start9 servers for over a year now and have consistently been impressed with how focused they are on their mission of supporting people to be self-sovereign.
After all, there is no cloud, just someone else's server. There is no better time than now to run your own server and Start9 makes it easy.

I've been interested in getting a Start9 server for my business and probably a second for home. The 2 features that weren't yet available when I first started looking, but were supposed to happen soon were a program that was a google docs replacement (forget the name) and the ability to auto-backup between 2 start9 servers. Do you know if they have been rolled out yet? Do you know the name of the two programs?
If these 2 are available, I can justify the expense and add some additional functionality as well.

Borrowed from Minds, but I've seen this multiple places in the past written slightly differently.
The US standard railroad gauge (distance between the rails) is 4 feet, 8.5 inches. That's an exceedingly odd number. Why was that gauge used? Well, because that's the way they built them in England, and English engineers designed the first US railroads. Why did the English build them like that? Because the first rail lines were built by the same people who built the wagon tramways, and that's the gauge they used. So, why did 'they' use that gauge then? Because the people who built the tramways used the same jigs and tools that they had used for building wagons, which used that same wheel spacing. Why did the wagons have that particular odd wheel spacing? Well, if they tried to use any other spacing, the wagon wheels would break more often on some of the old, long distance roads in England . You see, that's the spacing of the wheel ruts. So who built those old rutted roads? Imperial Rome built the first long distance roads in Europe (including England ) for their legions. Those roads have been used ever since. And what about the ruts in the roads? Roman war chariots formed the initial ruts, which everyone else had to match or run the risk of destroying their wagon wheels. Since the chariots were made for Imperial Rome , they were all alike in the matter of wheel spacing. Therefore the United States standard railroad gauge of 4 feet, 8.5 inches is derived from the original specifications for an Imperial Roman war chariot. Bureaucracies live forever. So the next time you are handed a specification/procedure/process and wonder 'What horse's as came up with this?', you may be exactly right. Imperial Roman army chariots were made just wide enough to accommodate the rear ends of two war horses. (Two horses' ases.) Now, the twist to the story: When you see a Space Shuttle sitting on its launch pad, there are two big booster rockets attached to the sides of the main fuel tank. These are solid rocket boosters, or SRBs. The SRBs are made by Thiokol at their factory in Utah . The engineers who designed the SRBs would have preferred to make them a bit fatter, but the SRBs had to be shipped by train from the factory to the launch site. The railroad line from the factory happens to run through a tunnel in the mountains, and the SRBs had to fit through that tunnel. The tunnel is slightly wider than the railroad track, and the railroad track, as you now know, is about as wide as two horses' behinds. So, a major Space Shuttle design feature, of what is arguably the world's most advanced transportation system, was determined over two thousand years ago by the width of a horse's as. And you thought being a horse's as wasn't important? Ancient horse's as*es control almost everything.

I've got to get amethyst figured out. I downloaded it to my phone, and tried entering my keys and couldn't get it to work. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and haven't had time to figure it out.
I'm using Iris on my desktop right now. I wanted to try out a few other clients to see if I like them better, but Iris has been working for me.
I generally don't do any social media on my phone, but it would be handy to have a client on my phone to make it easier to directly upload photos I take.
It would be nice if you could easily do it at each note rather than having to go to settings and change everything before going back to post a note and then going back to settings to set it back to the default.
I wonder what these advertising agencies are thinking when they come up with garbage like this. I used to work for Motorola. They had an ad campaign with "You Can't Always Get What You Want" as the music for the ad. All I heard was that Motorola wasn't what I wanted. That was bad, but an ad like the one you posted is even worse.
It sounds like you have done a good job of encouraging thinking, curiosity and learning. Keep up the good work and you will be amazed at the young man he becomes.
I have a question for those who know NOSTR well.
Is it possible (I'm using Iris now with default nodes) to manually chose which node each note is written to? One thought I had, since I'm considering getting a Start9 server at work and possibly at home, is having a personal node. My idea is posting public notes to public nodes, but being able to post private notes to my private node and only those to whom I give access can see the private notes. Is that something possible with NOSTR? Is that something Iris or another client can do? Is that something that someone would be interested in implementing?

Sickening.
That's a good problem to have. If you really have more than you need, there are always people willing to buy your compost.
If we can keep getting these nice drizzles every couple of days, my garden will be so happy. We normally only get 12.5" a year, so I've got 4 spigot timers attached to hoses, sprinklers, and soakers on 3 of the 4 spigots on my house, trying to keep things watered so everything doesn't die.
We got about 20% of our annual rainfall in the past week. It finally stopped raining, so I'm about to head out and try to get more plants in the ground. We've got a bit more rain coming the middle of this week.
The only good news is the rain tended to be a constant drizzle rather than our normal violent thunderstorms. The few things I got in the ground before the rain started are so happy.
Rufus Teague sugar-free smoke'n chipotle BBQ sauce is tasty. It isn't carb free, but it is much lower carb than almost all BBQ sauces at the store. Normally we dry rub any BBQ and then I can add a little Rufus Teague to it. I also sometimes dilute it a bit with apple cider vinegar since it is quite thick. That allows me to spread it thinner and use less. It is very tasty, but has a bit of a spicy kick.
