I'm sorry for what you have to deal with everyday, no one deserves that. I just want to clarify that the only thing "islamic" about the regime is the name alone, islam does not promote censorship but in fact promotes free speech. bitcoin is also the only halal money free of interest. the note is gaining traction and so just don't want misinformation to spread :)

need mutiny+ to set one up right now, can pay for 1 month only and keep the address forever but yeh it's paywalled for early access.

if you're on iOS and you wanna subscribe head to mutiny.plus on your laptop and scan the qr code from the app to pay

bitcoin is currently viewed as a speculative asset by the media and the majority of people, that's the reason for price volatility. when bitcoin is used for the cases I mentioned, the market cap will be quite stable, going up as more users come to the network(the market sets the price), major currencies don't drop 25% in a day.

you have to set up a ln address if you wanna offline receive to mutiny, shouldn't need one if you just make an invoice, pay it from primal and then keep the mutiny wallet open to receive

not sure what you mean bro, it will use a fedimint on your end to send if you have one setup with some ecssh

in terms of receiving, the ln address requires a fedimint, and zaps to that will only go there. you can swap them after however

with normal invoice receives, under 200k is fedimint otherwise its lightning channel

the timeline in my head is much faster than what other people think I admit, but I do think this will be soon(5 ish years)

and yeh business will pay the tx fees when you pay them I feel like

personal payments fees will add up to be less than inflation since prices will go down denominated in sats instsad of up

that's my opinions :)

not a jjk fan?πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

true actually, need a jjk banner lemme find oneπŸ˜‚

true, but I genuinely don't think it's that far off for some regular non bitcoin business to start paying people in bitcoin in the next 5 ish years. if you get paid in bitcoin and pay for bills etc with bitcoin, there are no middle man fees, only tx fees.

2 points, firstly regarding the fees you initially talk about, you see a similar thing when swapping from USD to EUR for a holiday, fx exchange rates are set so that the middle man can take a % cut, similar to how crypto exchanges take a % cut when you swap your fiat for bitcoin. this can be thought of as a temporary "entrance fee", once you have the bitcoin, you don't pay that again, and if you receive bitcoin you don't worry about it.

second point is tx fees, on chain won't be for everyone, it never was meant to be. it is scarce for a reason. if you think about payment processors today (visa, MasterCard etc) they charge 2-3% on tx's, but you don't notice this because the business pays it and just includes that fee into the cost of the product you are buying. as bitcoin + lightning becomes more mainstream, I see no reason why it wouldn't be the same here as well. tx fees would be paid by the supermarket or whatever business you are paying in the background, and you will just be paying the invoice price itself. that leaves payments to friends and family, which are currently "free", but all youre doing when paying them fiat is giving them an IOU for fiat money you never had in the first place. in this case I think a few sats is acceptable to move actual store of value, it is worth it :)

eh, I feel like inflation adds up more than the few sats we use to transact on lightning. although in the future high fee environments maybe you're correct

my opinion is ain't no way you can scale on chain bitcoin for everyone to use, not even fully self custodial lightning. if each person on earth got their own 100k sat channel, that's about 50% of all bitcoin, ain't no way that's happening πŸ˜‚

things like fedimint will need to exist, and privacy preserving solutions like fedimint will succeed i think. maybe not in its current form, but it's very early days and mutiny are doing well to innovate in this field

good read if you're wondering about mutiny ln addresses safety :)

https://tonygiorgio.com/fedimint/

using "Odin federation" 31cf7ff41efad6765a812f28d4dce7dec0426f97110b92d5ff5a2d46b69ea0d1

although admittedly I have no idea who runs this and they could rugπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

mutiny will add the ability to swap federations soon but for now once you setup you ln address you're stuck with that one
