The smoke adds so much flavor. I think the best steaks I made were over a camp fire on a grate. Only salt was added but the complex flavor of the wood smoke, salt, and beef fat made it melt in your mouth.

GM! It’s #bacon time.

Best way to cook bacon hands down.

Some pics of our camping trip over the weekend at Roman Nose State Park. It was really nice to get out and explore a new place. Hard to believe all this beauty is plopped right in the middle of the vast flatlands of farm fields. #campstr #fishstr

An interesting tool for retirement from the stack. Check it out and let me know what you think.

The girls finally got their Christmas #kitties. They’re ecstatic! These are barn/ outdoor cats.

I’d be happy if half hatch but we’ll see. Only 11 days left

Nursing life is an amazing thing. The #incubation process is going swell. Out of the 30 or so eggs, there were 22 that were fertile. You can see this little guy wiggling around in the egg. 😊 Fingers crossed they all make it. #chicks #grownostr #homesteading https://video.nostr.build/882df6d189593a07a13256ec0e7651512a9fc579384fa5d4d678a0e99765fad2.mp4

Ah! I see. I did have a couple contaminated bags. I’m going to burry them in the garden since I added a bunch of manure in the fall. Maybe get lucky with some fruits.

All I can say is short cutting any plumbing results in failure in the end. You can probably use a torch to heat that glue back up where your leak is, then pull apart. Shorten your vertical just a bit so it’s not angled then reglue.

I’ve been seeing some with grain in a mason jar. Idk, this is my first run so want to keep it basic. I did the CVG substrate last night so should be able to mix it all today and get her growing out.

I’m told they’re an easy way for beginners since it’s already pre cooked and sterile. You just simply needle in some spores tape over the hole and wait.

Dude!! No kidding. We’re in OK where the wind sweeps down the plains and knocks you off your feet. I’ve had to go around and put paver blocks on everything

I keep forgetting to add updates. Today I planted some peas in the raised beds. I also soaked half of them in water to see how they germinate differently. The propagation box is almost full now. I added some magnolia, fig, creeping thyme, willow and a few others. Most of the seeds I started have now sprouted and are looking 💪🏼. I’ll probably plant out some broccoli and other brassicas soon now that I’ve rebuilt the raised bed cover.

I was also given a whole bunch of stuff for growing mushrooms 🍄‍🟫. You know me, time to learn a new #skill. #Mycology has started to peak my interest as I’ve learned about soil food web. For now I have some “fun” spores. Soon I plan on growing some other types. Have a good night nostrland.
