Off to #CheatCode in Bedford this afternoon. Last year was great; this year will be mind blowing. Swan Hotel, river walks, inspiring speakers. Can’t wait. nostr:nprofile1qqs2auxkkgfgylem580xrztp8ek5sf83s86k0vfq2feuz6y4lkhskgcpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejszxnhwden5te0wfjkccte9ehx7um5wf5kx6r9wvhx7un879rrzq nostr:npub16le69k9hwapnjfhz89wnzkvf96z8n6r34qqwgq0sglas3tgh7v4sp9ffxj
Just got to the bit in The Mandibles where they refer to the “gang of charlatans [who] had wreaked nationwide havoc.” A reference to Keynesian economists. It’s a shame the book is so prescient!
I actually made that up :-)
How close is it to the Swan Hotel? Advanced planning for CheatCode :-)
Love this lower caps phase :-)

I would argue Saddam was an evil dictator, but I didn’t support invading Iraq for regime change, just as I wouldn’t support invading Russia for regime change. However, there are (some) similarities between Iraq invading Kuwait and Russia invading Ukraine. That’s where deterrence comes into play. It is prudent IMO to discourage dictators redrawing sovereign boundaries.
IMO Putin is an evil dictator and needs to be deterred from invading sovereign nations. The good guys are those who help deter him.
GM. Nothing like a tasty coffee :-)

So many options to choose from, but let’s go for Event Horizon.
