The new workbench is done. It is 30”x8’. I used a lot of new techniques. Then I sealed it with a quart of polyurethane. Minus the casters or only cost about $150. I had use permanent casters because mistakes were made. 😂
I made a bunch of mistakes. From mismeasuring to not accounting for planing boards down in the design.
I am excited it is done and I can move on to some more projects, after I clean my shop… again.

Two of the bases are assembled for the workbench. I made many mistakes but it is still coming together. I am definitely going to have a discussion about the mistakes in my YouTube video for this. Until then I am finally making good progress.

So this is my OSHA approved way of fixing a leak in the roof. 😂 the lyrics “if your gonna be dumb better be tough” was going through my head.

That is actually how I cleaned it up when I first got it used. Wasn’t too bad but that got it cleaned up.
Blades are fine it just dropped on the bed. Good time to remove the rust and re-treat all the tools.
When you forget and put your planer in the wrong place and it rains. 😑

Looks amazing! I have been craving steak for the last 2 weeks.
I am glad to finally be able to get back to some woodworking. Even though I am only building a new workbench I am trying a couple of new techniques. I am going for some lap joints and doing the layout has been interesting. We shall see how it goes.

I released my new YouTube video on building my shed. I made sure to include the frustrations and the tediousness of some parts so you can get a realistic expectation of the build.
Plus I include several tips on building the platform that would probably make a decent video on its own.

My next YouTube video is 1 hour 39 minutes long. I wish it was some super cool new project that changes the world. The reality is it is me building a kit shed and the struggles that I had.
Finally cooling down. Being in the sun at 109 was not enjoyable, but I may have fixed the mower 😅. It is sad when I am happy for 102. lol

I doubt I’ll ever put a computer in my head, who knows.
The one thing I do want from that is when I think about mundane things I just know them like the 10 day forecast. I would like to instantly know. The annoyance factor is looking up the weather forecast frustrates me.

I just browsed news headlines. Nothing but chaos lol. I think I’ll get back to fixing my mower and cleaning my shop it’ll be more productive and meaningful.
“You will eat ze bugs”
South Korean dog meat farmers are facing international pressure to end their family farms. I suspect most people will see their plight as being wholly different than the Irish dairy farmers, being forced to cull their herds. I’m just not sure why that should be so. A ruling elite within one country bending to International values, beliefs, and obligations pass laws to sacrifice the local for the sake of meeting those international interests. One is pollution the other animal treatment. I am intrigued by the comparative question, anyone interested in discussing? Is the only difference that we agree with one value and are the majority and not the other? Does that make it ok?

This is interesting because for the west it is a look at how we treat animals other cultures think are sacred.
Specifically cows. We raise them for meat, but in India not so much.
For us we are not happy at the idea of raising dogs for meat.
While I personally wouldn’t do it as I love dogs. I am not against others doing it. Especially since at the end of the day they are animals.
However if they are CAFO style farms that i specifically have a problem with, just like here.
Good to know, thanks.
Hah I have found I am adjusting to the heat. I have had to work in my shop fixing my mower in the evenings after work.
Last night I was outside and it felt nice. I looked at the temp and it was 85. I don’t like this lol.
Only 1.5 more months until we get a cool morning once in a while.
I am glad I wasn’t the only one that thought this.
Sometimes in life you use a tool and you think “I am dumb not getting this sooner”.
My father-in-law had one of these and it is amazing. So now I have one too. 🤣
Interestingly when it comes to grease I was researching grease to use on my farmall. The manual says “Use IH grease”. Well what grease is that?
After doing a bunch of research someone hit me with some wisdom. My tractor is nearly 80 yeas old, the cheap grease is better@than the premium grease 80 years ago.
Lol point taken.

We finally got this shed put together. What is super interesting is it was cheaper to get this than to build one from wood the same size. This is 8’x7.5’.
This will really help get all the garden equipment over to the gardens 🤣 and out of my shop.
Now to finish fixing a mower then maybe I can start on house renovations.
